Grace sets war vets on Mujuru but has nothing for her toughest challenger the economy!

If Mai Mujuru and her supporter thought the end of the meet-the-people rallies was the end of Grace Mugabe’s “hour on the political stage” they could not have been more wrong. Grace is still on a war footing and today she was back at her Mazoe Orphanage, where it all started two months ago and is becoming her political temple, telling war vets Mai Mujuru is not fit to rule Zimbabwe.

“There are plenty of people who can run this country, not Mujuru…we cannot go back to where we were before independence,” said Grace.

“Hanzi ini ndirikuda kuita President, why not, handisi mwana wemuZimbabwe here? Hoo iwe ndiwe wakakodzera nhai? Today we now say chizororai amai, vanogona vaenderere mberi.” (They say I want to be President, why not, am I not a Zimbabwean? You think you are the only fit to be? Today we now say rest madam, let those who can go ahead.)

Hurricane Grace has hit Zimbabwe's political landscape and she is stirring up the worst emotions in those amongst our people known to be ruled more by passion and blind loyalty than by reason.  She is doing so for selfish political gain.

Zanu PF has ruled the country through chaos, fear and bloodshed. Each time the regime is fearful that power is slipping out of its grip, it has resorted to its most tried and trusted ways of consolidating power - chaos, fear and bloodshed and the mindless zealots like the war vets have been its foot-soldiers. Grace is mobilizing the war vets – the handiest and willing tool in the tyrannical regime’s tool box.

Grace assured the war vets that all their issues would be addressed and says that war vets deserve to be taken care of.

After 34 years of misrule by Mugabe the nation's life expectancy, the ultimate qualitative and quantitative measure of a nation’s standard of living and economic progress, has dropped from 68 years in 1980 to 34 years in 2004 according to some reports. It would be a lot worse if donors had not step in. Since 2008 it is the donors who have paid 98% of the country's medical needs, for example. The regime says it has no money but had $5 million to spend on Bona Mugabe's wedding!

Most of these war vets are now living in abject poverty; they have not been spared the economic hardship that has befallen the nation. The war vets have stubbornly refused to see the mountain of evidence of mismanagement and rampant corruption by the regime which are the root causes of the country’s economic ruin. They have, instead, readily accepted the regime’s explanation that it was “the illegal sanctions imposed by the evil West” that have caused the economic collapse.

It has never occurred to these war vets how it was possible that these sanctions that have made the rest of us poor have had the exact opposite effect on those on sanctions list; they have prospered to become millionaire! Now, Grace is promising them that “all” their problems will be addressed; how this miracle is to be achieved now with the evil sanctions still in place, she did not say. Her most important message to the war vets was to prime them and set them off like attack dogs.

“Kana wanga uchisupporta Mai Mujuru buda izvezvi, today is the final push, moment of truth is here,” ranted Grace. “Kana uri murume wotosunga mabrugwa diarrhoea isabude!” (Those who support Mrs Mujuru must come out in the open, today is the final push, moment of truth is here. If you are a man tighten your pants so diarrhoea does not leak out!)

Grace Mugabe knows that her husband, Robert Mugabe, has used the same dirty tactics creating chaos, fear and has shed the blood over 30 000 innocent Zimbabwe during his 34 years in power to maintain his tyrannical rule but it was not going to last. Any regime in history whose power was based on denying others their basic freedom, justice, liberty and human rights including the right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country and even the right to life itself has always collapsed in the end. The dog-eat-dog fighting in Zanu PF is a clear manifestation of the collapse of Zanu PF.

Whilst Grace may use her “baby dumping” threats backed by the menacing war vets to subdue Mai Mujuru and her Zanu PF faction into submission she should not think she can do the same with the rest of the populous. The continued economic meltdown which has forced 300 000 children out of school and forced 16% or 2 million Zimbabweans into a life of abject poverty already in the nationwide manifestation of the failure of the Zanu PF autocracy. The people have suffered enough and they deserve a just government elected by the people in free, fair credible elections.

Grace will have to rig economic recovery and end the human suffering it has brought to consolidate her grip on power. She will find that the economy is not as easily subdued as Mai Mujuru nor is it so readily fooled as the war vet!

@ J Mawarire

I am sure Jonathan Moyo and Mugabe themselves would want to claim credit for their cunningness in master-minding Zanu PF's election success but even they have to admit that they were very lucky to have had such breathtakingly incompetent opponents is Tsvangirai and MDC.

Human history has often brought together some extraordinary individuals who together achieved some great things. Sometimes the stars line up to produce some really stupid people. I do not think there will ever be a bigger gathering of village idiots ever again as when Tsvangirai and his MDC friends worked together in 2000 to 2013!

If Jonathan Moyo’s purpose in appointing Mathuthu and Kudzai was to criticise Mugabe and destroy Zanu PF from within then you have to admit that they have done an excellent job. You have failed to say one thing they have done wrong other than that they do not the right degrees hanging behind their desks to satisfy you. You are obsessed about paper qualifications; I am surprised you did not start your whole article by praising Dr Grace Mugabe on her successful doctorate!

Jabulani Sibanda was criticised for not being actively involved in Grace’s rallies and he is now hitting back by accusing his critics of being anti-Grace and anti-Mugabe.
“Soon I will call for a Press conference and expose all those who are anti-Mugabe. Let them do all what they want but I will call for a Press conference to deal with this issue,” he said.
“We experienced such things during the liberation struggle, we experienced such after independence and today we are experiencing it again.”
Well, the man who have been terrorising the nation is now being terrorized in turn and, better still, is now s***ting is his pants.
You took great pride in hunting with the piranhas and in how you lot savaging your victims, stripping them to the bone is a feeding frenzy. What you forget to realise is piranhas are cannibals and when they are hungry they will turn and strip you to the bone just as readily.

@ Alex Magaisa
“I want ours to be a nation of gentlemen” he (Mugabe) is often quoted as having said.
It sounds like you too have been charmed by Mugabe into believing him to be a gentleman. As Tsvangirai’s advisor at the critical time in our history where he made the most breathtakingly incompe-tent and idiotic decision of not implementing even one single reform, one has to ask whether that was what you advised him to do? Where you so impressed by the “gentleman” Mugabe you believed the reforms were not necessary?
Do you realise that the whole country is in this intractable mess with no easy way out because MDC failed to implement the critical democratic reform which would have stopped your “gentleman” tyrant rigging the July 2013 elections?
Even now with the benefit of hindsight it seems you are still full of admiration of this “gentleman” Mugabe. Zimbabwe has had the great misfortune of having some amazingly stupid academics; lawyers, engineers, professors, you name it; you are just one of them! It is a great pity that there is no University that teaches common sense – people like you could do with such a course!

If Mugabe was hoping to buy time to allow tempers to cool then he was completely mistaken because Grace was back on the attack and demanding that Mujuru must be fired.

After years of being treated as if they are idiots, one can understand why some of the Zanu PF mem-bers would want to stand up to Mugabe. For many of them this could be the last time they will ever have to face up to the tyrant because chances are he will "dump" many of them soon after the con-gress from both the party and government.

What makes this politburo really tricky for Mugabe is that he has no faction of his own as he has used and abused everyone at one point or another. He is the lone ranger. To have enemies from both camps and not even one friend of your own is a very dangerous position - for once the warring sides may see the advantage of uniting to get rid of you and settle their own differences later, especial when both of them know neither will ever have the presidency whilst you live!

No I would not want to be in Mugabe's shoes at tomorrow's politburo meeting. I would love to be a fly on the wall and bear witness to history being played out before my own eyes!

Those who are calling for Mugabe to reprimand his wife are naïve; to what end and purpose?
Grace’s attack of Mai Mujuru have been so savage and relentless; Mai Mujuru is naïve and is known for been mentally slow but even her sloth-brain will not believe that Grace did not mean every word she said.

Stopping Grace from assuming the Zanu PF Women’s League position and banishing her from holding any party position for the next five years would go some way to restore R G Mugabe’s position as the one still leading the party and government and not his wife!

Mai Mujuru had total control of eight out of the country’s ten provinces and since the provinces nomi-nate the candidate for VP and other posts it was almost certain she was going to be nominated VP putting her is pole position to become president after Mugabe. He position was unassailable and so it was going to take some doing to unseat her. Grace realised that her entry into politics and her ex-pressed intention to stand as VP was not enough to unnerve Mujuru and force her to step aside. Grace need to do a lot more and a direct attack of Mujuru, tarnishing her name and record was the only way left and that is exactly what Grace has done.

If Mugabe believes Grace still have no chance of unseating Mujuru then and only then will the tyrant want to cut his losses and banish his wife into political exile. But knowing Mugabe as I do, he would have never allowed his wife to go beyond the point of no return on this unless he believed she had chance of forcing Mujuru to step down. Now the die has been cast, Mugabe will fight to win and settle for nothing less.

I believe Mugabe will confront Mujuru and her supporters with the detailed evidence of her corruption and past wrong doings and overwhelm them all with bull! Everyone knows Mai Mujuru is corrupt; so are everybody else but it is not everybody else but her who will be in the dock!

Grace knew that it was now or never, she had to stop Mujuru now or she would never get another chance after all how often has Zanu PF held elective congresses it the party's 51 year history. Mugabe was no spring chicken either! Grace had no choice but to launch a direct frontal and brutal attack throwing absolutely everything into the attack.

The viciousness of the attack against against Mujuru was meant to stop the victim dead in her track - which it seems to have done -; frighten all her supporters and make them run for cover - which has happened -; and last but not least, show the country at large that she can be just as ruthless as R G Mugabe, and has indeed learnt from the best - chaos, fear and bloodshed have been the hallmarks of Zanu PF's rule and she has created the first two at least!

Since when has anyone in Zanu PF put up a spirited fight against Mugabe? We are talking of the men and women Ms Dongo rightly dismissed as "vakadzi vaMugabe" (Mugabe's mistresses) for the cowardice. If they were not such big cowards; then they would have stopped Mugabe before he completely destroyed the nation’s economy and murdered over 30 000 innocent Zimbabweans.

This time any of the Zanu PF buffoons who get dumped know that they will live the rest of their lives in abject poverty. They saw the likes of the late Nathan Shamuyarira and that is where they are heading for! We will have to see whether the fear of poverty will spur them to speak out at last and not always back over backwards to please Mugabe. It will not save them from the being kicked out of Easy Street to join us the masses in S***t Alley because it is all too little too late but, who knows, it may help with the demise of this tyrannical regime.

This nation's salvation lies in regime change through free, fair and credible elections! A weakened Zanu PF will help force the regime to step down and accept the need for meaningful democratic changes.

@ Prof Pinkk

Zanu PF is falling apart alright. After their in house fighting is over those who survive will not have time to lick their wounds because they are called upon to address an even bigger challenge for which none of them have an answer - the economic meltdown.

As for those Zanu PF goons who will be dumped - load shedding Mugabe style - there is life in S***t Alley awaiting. After decades of living in Easy Street and worrying about putting on too much weight they will finally have something really worth worrying about - nothing to eat. A rumbling stomach will see to it that they wake up in the middle of the night to worry.

It is not right to take pleasure in someone's misfortune but in this case we the poor are being neighbourly and welcoming the new arrivals. Poverty will open their eyes and for the first time they will see that it is corruption and not sanctions that has destroyed the nation. When you are no longer invited to the $5 million weddings you are guaranteed to see things for what they really are!

@Whyisvm
Fight back with what? Now?

As for Grace taking over, she has the real tough opponent in the economy to fight and it does not fear the war vets. Indeed the economic meltdown knows these idiots very, very well because most of them are living in abject poverty already.

The war vets invaded the farms and they were kicked off the farms as soon as possible but clearly they did not learn. They will learn because poverty does not mind repeating the lesson until they learn.

Grace has some war vets on Jabulani Sibanda's cases in the case of war vet against war vet and he is squalling like a piglet already.

Joseph Chinotimba is worried sick by her remark “Kasi hausi kufara here? (Are you not happy?) Vacancy yamukaka iyi.” What the fcuk did she mean by that?! He danced his heart out and still she is not happy!?

@ Mshini

I am only asking whether it was his careful attention to "protocol" as you call it that made him advice Tsvangirai not to implement the reforms. Of course is you are dealing with a "gentleman" Mugabe and not the corrupt, vote rigging and murderous tyrant Mugabe some of us know you would not need to implement even one democratic reform!

I am only drawing attention to our former advisor to PM Tsvangirai that the consequences of the failure to implement the reforms are the 300 000 or 80% of children out of school, 16% or 2 million living in abject poverty, etc.

I am pointing out that Magaisa may be very clever on protocol but has no common sense. We have a national crisis here and Magaisa played a part in creating that crisis and I do not have the patience to focus on trivial matters of shaking hands. What I want to know is why did this breathtakingly incompetent good for nothing advisor not get the reforms implemented!

UK Universities are renowned the world over for the high quality of their education but by ap-pointing someone like Alex Magaisa in their teaching staff one can see that some are scrapping the bottom of the barrel! I feel sorry for the students he is teaching; they will never know what it really means to be mentally stimulated!

Oxford has another Zimbabwean lecturer who is a thick as a brick. Kent School of Law will have Dr Grace Mugabe as a visiting lecturer!

@ Test

For some people like Mugabe, Zanu PF members, Tsvangirai, MDC members, war vets, etc. they were born stupid and will remain thus to the day they are buried.

Mugabe has seven University degrees but my late mother, may she rest in peace, had more com-mon sense than him and she only had three years or so of schooling. Education is supposed to open one's mind and thus stimulate more brain cell links but with idiots like Mugabe he went through University parrot style memorised everything and could repeat it without ever under-standing anything much less see its relevance to their daily life.

Bona Mugabe was in the Far East for donkey years, she too must have seven degrees if she did not repeat so many times! The UZ must have decided to award Grace Mugabe a PhD and dispense with teaching her anything; by the time she learned DEF, she had already forgotten ABC.

@ Muverengi

Mai Mujuru is a woman of little intellect who fought for freedom and independence but became big head-ed when she found herself in a position of power. Mugabe has used her like so many other simpletons to build and retain this de facto one party dictatorship. Now he does not need her and he is discarding her and publicly abusing her.

If Mai Mujuru has committed a crime, then it has to be that she is greed and her greed made her indifferent to the very things she went to war for and betraying the very people she claimed to have liberated. She is stupid but not that stupid not to have realised that she was part and parcel of a murderous and tyrannical regime all these 34 years!

Zimbabwe Light said...

@ Easyrider

Other than Professor Moyo who else can you say is a full shilling in Zanu PF!? Mugabe has ruled that party for all these years precisely because there was no one else with any brain to challenge him!

Mugabe had set a trap for Mai Mujuru years ago and it is only now that he has decided to spring it! She has been walking in and out of the trap without even realising it that is how simple minded she is. She has been leaving tracks in all her corrupt dealings. She has been like a rat that urinates as it goes along so anyone can follow its urine-stained trail. I agree with you, Mujuru is finished!

Zimbabwe Light said...

Mai Mujuru was not the only one who has been meeting Western governments as the other WikiLeaks cables have shown. Jonathan Moyo and Gideon Gono to name but two have been talking to the Americans but nothing is being said about these two because they are in the right faction, the faction backing Grace Mugabe.

Zimbabwe Light said...

There is no doubt that Mugabe went out of his way to make Tsvangirai and his MDC friends' lives during the GNU comfortable so comfortable that they would forget to implement the democratic reforms. Well there is no doubt the tyrant succeeded in doing just that. This was so blatantly obvious that SADC heads complained of MDC leaders "enjoying themselves in the GNU, they forgot why they were in government".

The Highlands mansion was a big part of the bribe Tsvangirai got, he also got the ministerial car and a chance to globe trot and chance women of ill repute!

The country is in a real mess; 300 000 children are out of school, 2 million people are now living in abject poverty, etc. and the future is grim. And it was all because Tsvangirai and his MDC friends failed to implement even one reform and all for the sake of a piece of calico cloth and handful of beads - for that is what Mugabe paid for the lives of all now his modern day slaves!

So now Tsvangirai cannot even afford the upkeep of the Highlands mansion, the calico cloth is worn out! It is impossible to have any sympathy for idiotic sell-outs like Tsvangirai!

“They formed a company called ACR for them to loot diamonds, gold and every mineral in Zimbabwe,” said Grace. “Their efforts were rejected in 2006 when Government said diamonds belonged to Zimbabweans and not one family.

All these years this regime has vehemently denied that there was corruption and now the nation is being told that actually corruption has been rampant and those in power have been at the very heart of it.

The fact of the matter is that even to this day the wealth from the diamonds has continued to go to a select few in power and not all Zimbabweans.

If Mugabe thinks he can admit half the story on corruption just to get rid of Mai Mujuru and her faction and everything will go back to business as usual then he is dreaming. It is corruption that has crippled the Zimbabwe economy and the economic meltdown will continue until this cancer is removed. Since this corrupt and oppressive Zanu PF dictatorship is the head from which all the corruption grows like snakes on Medusa's Head the only solution is to cut-off the head!

The purge going on in Zanu PF will help isolate the head of the dictatorship; the head to be cut off!

What goes round comes round. Jabulani Sibanda has abused his position in the war vet to terrorise the ordinary people to force them to attend Zanu PF rallies and vote for Mugabe. Here was someone who did not care about freedom, justice or human rights. He was a law unto himself.

Now the tyranny that he has spend his life time's work to create has turned against him. It is amazing how he is the one now looking for order and rule of law. It is not there, Mr Sibanda, you killed rule of law.

@ Dr Alex Magaisa

“It (military) also played a crucial role in the July 31 election after strident resistance against reforms,” writes Alex Magaisa , the former Tsvangirai Advisor and now MDC apologist.

What is not clear is whether our apologist is accusing the military, Mugabe and Zanu PF party or both of “strident resistance against reforms”. It is all nonsense of course because not even one reform was ever implemented in the five years of the GNU because of MDC’s breath-taking incompetence both Zanu PF and the military played no role other than Mugabe buying MDC leaders’ cooperation in doing nothing with bribes.

“Tsvangirai navamwe vaka veMDC vadzidzi kudya vanyerere!” (Tsvangirai and his MDC friends have learnt enjoy the gravy train life and not make a fuss!) Was the cynical respond from one Mugabe loy-alist at the remarkable about face change by MDC two years into the GNU. It was clear then that MDC was no longer interested in delivering any democratic changes as they had promised.

Dr Alex Magaisa was an important part of the MDC team as the then Prime Minister Tsvangirai’s ad-visor and therefore he too took his place on the feeding tough and was busy feeding and not making a fuss. Of all people, Dr Magaisa a lawyer by profession, he knew that the first step in implementing the reforms was for MDC to submit proposed reforms for parliamentary approval. Mugabe, Zanu PF, the Army or anyone else other than MDC leaders had no role in this.

Our advisor cum apologist Magaisa knows that not even one proposed reform was ever submitted to parliament.

If MDC had implemented the reforms, God knows they had all the opportunities and time to do so; Mugabe would not have rigged the 31st July 2013 and the 300 000 children out of school will be in school, the 2 million now living in abject poverty would be assured of one decent meal a day at least, etc. Is it not bad enough that MDC betrayed these 300 000 children, 2 million in living in abject pov-erty, etc. without now insulting our collective intelligence by telling a tall tale about why no reforms were implemented.

It is one thing for a blundering idiot like Tsvangirai to employ such a phony as Dr Alex Magaisa as his advisor but how a highly regarded institution like the Kent School of Law would employ him as a lecturer is a complete mystery.

In November last year Mai Mujuru annoyed millions of Zimbabweans by dismissing the problem of corruption as fiction inspired by "regime change" agents. Everyone knows that she is one of the few Zimbabweans who are filthy rich from corrupt activities and she is not going to get any public sympathy by once again denying corruption.

So she thinks the nation should sweep corruption under the carpet for the sake of Zanu PF unity? How stupid! Zanu PF Politburo will nail her on corruption and she will be dumped and rightly so too!
