Mnangagwa threaten to kill all who do not support Zanu PF and all MDC can do is yap like a poodle at an elephant!

Vice President Emmerson Mnangangwa reminded us all (not that many of needed to be reminded, still he did regardless) just what an evil monster the Zanu PF dictatorship is to us all.

“We have things that we get for free from God such as oxygen, but when it comes to water we have to do something so that it is purified hence people have to pay for it. If I were God I was going to (sic) deprive all those who do not support the revolutionary party of oxygen so that they all die,” threatened Mnangangwa. “I mean MDC supporters and their leader Morgan Tsvangirai.”

For a regime that have murdered over 30 000 innocent Zimbabweans to establish and retain this Zanu PF dictatorship in its 35 years in power no one would consider this an empty threat.

“The people of Zimbabwe are a gallant and resilient lot who will never give in to the cowardly and dastardly threats being uttered against them by a man who is expected to behave and conduct himself in a decent and law – abiding manner both as a lawyer and also as the country’s first Vice – President,” came the reply from MDC spokesman Obert Gutu.

The people are facing heart-breaking economic hardships because the national economy is in ruins with unemployment soaring to nauseating heights of 90%, 16% of our people are already living in total abject poverty and the situation is set to get even worse as long as Zanu PF remains in power. Our politicians have been talking of the people’s resilience, as if all the economic misery these people are facing is some kind of vaccine induced pain necessary to build their immunity system.

The country’s economic collapse has resulted in the collapse of the country’s education and health systems too, for example. The hundreds of thousands of children who are missing up on their educations because their parents are too poor to feed them properly let alone pay the school fees; they will never catch-up again. People are suffering and dying of curable diseases, there is no come back for them.

“Let them (MDC) boycott elections arguing that they want reforms, but we are saying let them continue to boycott these elections while we continue to rule,” commented Mnangangwa.

He was responding to the rather pathetic and futile call by all MDC factions to boycott the elections until the reforms are implemented.

Whilst one accepts that taking part in elections that are not free and fair because Zanu PF is free to use all manner of dirty tricks including vote rigging and wanton violence to secure electoral victory is a pretty pointless act. Still my quarrel with MDC is on four points:

  1. It is important that people appreciate the difficult situation the nation is now in; we want the democratic reforms necessary for free and fair elections implement and Zanu PF who now have the two thirds majority in parliament will block the implementation of such reform!

  1. Zanu PF, after winching for years about it, will ultimately be pressured to agree to reform just as they did in the 2008 GPA; Zanu PF will then implement MDC’s list of eight reforms demands. The eight MDC reforms have not been carefully thought through; they will not stop the wanton violence or deliver free and fair elections. In short MDC’s eight reforms will be a waste of time, money and, most significant of all, wasted yet another chance to finally deal with this issue decisively.

  1. It must be said, and said forcefully, that MDC had the chance to implement all the reforms agreed in the 2008 GPA during the GNU but failed to implement even one reform because they sold-out.

  1. MDC are only interested in getting back into power; they will never deliver the reforms and changes the nation has been dying for all these years. If will be a national catastrophe if the nation entrusted Tsvangirai and his MDC friends ever again with public office. We are in this political mess because we elected Zanu PF tyrants and then MDC sell-outs to elect any of them again will only show that we have failed to learn from our past mistakes!

“Zimbabweans do not want to be ruled by a blood-thirsty and cruel cabal in the moribund Zanu PF party,” rebuked Obert Gutu. “As the country’s largest and most popular political party, the MDC calls upon Emmerson Mnangagwa and all other like – minded trigger – happy Zanu PF functionaries to appreciate that enough is enough.”

The people of Zimbabwe risked life and limb to elect MDC into power to end the Zanu PF tyrannical dictatorship and not to listen to Gutu yapping like a poodle barking at an elephant. What people like Tsvangirai and Gutu have failed to understand is that the people did not elect MDC to yap at Zanu PF to no end but to implement the reforms and end the dictatorship!
