Kasukuwere calls for end to Zanu PF infighting - first end economic meltdown!

Zanu PF Political Commissar, Kasukuwere calls upon party cadres to stop the infighting. He said the party's Harare leaders were fast losing discipline and respect for each other as evidenced by petitions and vote of no confidence constantly being passed on each other.

So the Political Commissar is calling for end to infighting and discipline in Zanu PF and yet he said nothing last year when Mugabe and his wife vicious attacking Mai Mujuru and her supporters because she was set to win power in the upcoming congress. Mai Mujuru and all her supporters have since been ruthlessly kicked out of government and party and many continue to be haunted to this day because they have dared reveal that Zanu PF has been rigging elections, for example.

This is typical of Zanu PF modus operandi; the leaders make a big song and dance condemning corrupt and lawlessness and yet are themselves the main instigators of lawlessness and have grown filthy rich from corruption. Mugabe has used infighting to ouster Mai Mujuru and her supporter to get what he wanted now the party members are doing the same. The country’s economic meltdown has meant that there is not enough wealth to satisfy the insatiable appetite of the Zanu PF members for loot; the members now have to fight for the scraps.

If President Mugabe is serious about stopping the infighting in Zanu PF then he must bring back the good times of easy money, jobs galore complete with the good roads, clean running water and electricity in every home, working health service and free education, etc., etc.; just as the nation had soon after independence.  Indeed the nation is in this sorry economic state precisely because of the 35 years of reckless spending, mismanagement and corruption; now the chicken have come back home to roost in their millions like red billed quelea.

Mugabe can neither stop the economic meltdown, a consequence of his own 35 years of misrule, nor can he stop the infighting in Zanu PF which itself is being fuelled by the economic meltdown. Mugabe has kept Zanu PF thugs happy and contended all these years by allowing them to loot; now there is nothing left for them to loot the party is imploding as the thugs fight over the scraps.

Zanu PF was always doomed to fail because it was based on mismanagement and looting which are not sustainable.

This corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF kleptocracy was unsustainable and now it must go for this nation to have fresh start. The only danger to watch out for is that Zanu PF does not drag the whole nation down the precipice with it!

@ Manheru

What is this over paid fool wittering about; flea infested chicken and dogs having puppies under the granary! Is it not bad enough that the idiot has grown fat from fleecing the long suffering people of Zimbabwe without adding insult to injury by bombarding the nation with all this nonsense!

As far as I am concerned George Charamba can keep all his ill got loot but he must pay dearly for all his Manheru bullshit! Of all the many crimes Charamba has committed against the good people of Zimbabwe, writing that Manheru column is the worse.

@Eugene

You did not answer my question.

To suggest that a mere mortal, a corrupt, incompetent and murderous one at that, is more power than God is blasphemous.

You are right Zimbabweans' future is grim that only because the nation made the mistake of electing a corrupt and murderous tyrant in 1980 and then failed to remove him by electing a corrupt and incompetent Tsvangirai. Instead of admitting they made a serious mistake and out of laziness Zimbabweans still continue to support MDC; placing all their hopes in a totally hopeless leader.

There are rewards for doing the right things just as there is punishment for doing the wrong things. We certainly deserve to be the second poorest nation on earth and there is plenty of room to sink even more!

Mugabe has been able to bribe, bamboozle, rig the vote and even murder his political challenger both within his own party and outside and stayed in power for these 35 years. However he has now met more than his match in the economy, after decades of mismanagement, corruption and lawlessness these evils have come back home to haunt him.

Mugabe had placed all his hopes of rigging economic recovery with his ZimAsset plan which was designed to throw $27 billion at the economy to overwhelm all the wastefulness due to mismanagement, etc. The problem with his plan is that he needed some donor to bankroll his hare-brain scheme; beside the two unredeemable cheques from the Chinese and Russians the ZimAsset begging bowl in empty.

So VP Mnangagwa had gone to Belarus with the ZimAsset begging bowl and came back empty handed. He and his entourage spent a lot of money on expenses and got nothing back. So, where to next now?

After 35 years of absolute power it is the economy that is going to force Mugabe and Zanu PF out of power; the tyrant cannot bribe, bamboozle or murder mismanagement or corruption. The only way to end mismanagement and corruption is by destroying the Zanu PF political patronage system which is the very system that has kept Mugabe and Zanu PF in power all these years.

Mugabe and Zanu PF, through mismanagement and corruption, have eaten themselves out of a home in that they are the ones who created the mismanagement, corruption and lawlessness behind the economic meltdown. Yes, “It is the economy stupid!” as former US President Bill Clinton would have said, that will end the Zanu PF dictatorship!

@ Patrick

Mugabe and Zanu PF have intimidated, beaten, raped, rigged elections and murdered so many people for selfish political gain and the mistake we have made is allowed them to get away with it. We must draw the line in the sand and hold these thugs to account for all the rigged elections and everyone they murdered because this is the only way we can be sure these serious human rights violations are stopped.

Mutasa has already confirmed that Zanu PF rigged elections in the past; there must be a full ju-diciary inquiry into this to establish all the facts and those responsible must be punished.

There must be a full judiciary inquiry into the abduction of Itai Dzamara and all the other political beating, rapes and murders and those responsible brought to book.

“He (Itai Dzamara) will be remember as the last one of the regime's victims, the last grain of rice that tipped the balance; forcing the world to finally make a stand and demand an end to President Mugabe and Zanu PF's three and half decades of madness!” you said.

We must take this further; Dzamara should be the last one the regime has murdered but also the first of many over whom the regime was held to account! We must expose this Mugabe dictator-ship for the incompetent, corrupt and murderous tyranny it is.

Tsvangirai chickens out to mobilizing vendors to resist Zanu PF forced removal of vendors out of the cities and towns centres.

Zanu PF has promised the people 2.2 million new jobs and it had kept its promise these would not be not so many unemployed people in the country and hence not so many vendors. It is therefore unacceptable that the regime should deny the unemployed the only meanings open to them to earn an honest living or be it a merge one!

Tsvangirai is just a political opportunist who is seeking to exploit the vendors for his own selfish political gain without offering them an end to their suffering. Indeed if the MDC village idiots had implemented the democratic reforms during the GNU, the nation would not be in all this political and economic mess.

This Zanu PF regime should concentrate on economic recovery and stop harassing the vendors, the victims of the regime's failed economic policies and misrule.

As for Tsvangirai, the nation is suffering already because of his blundering incompetence and the day this village idiot is forced to retire from all public life cannot come soon enough!

@Mai TT KK MM

Whatever you say the truth is all Zimbabwe's problems are man-made and therefore per se are within the powers of mortals to solve. Zimbabweans had the chance to end the Zanu PF dictatorship, for example, during the GNU if MDC had implemented the reforms. What did you want God to do there; write out the proposed reforms on stone tablets for Tsvangirai as He did with the Ten Commandments for Moses?

Zimbabweans elected a corrupt and incompetent MDC opposition and now even with all the evi-dence of just how corrupt and incompetent MDC leaders are the nation continue to follow these village idiots out of sheer mental laziness. Well the nation is paying dearly for its laziness.

You are wasting your time praying for God’s help because He does not do for mankind what mankind can and should do for themselves? He granted to mankind the discerning mind to know what is right and wrong; Zimbabweans have chosen to sit on their brains so it has atrophied into fatty tissue, that is our doing and the Lord can do nothing for those who choose to waste the talents He gave them.

You should get off your knees praying for the impossible and, for the first time in your life, put that fatty brain of yours to some useful use for a change!

RIP big brother!

The nation will continue to benefit from the words of wisdom you penned long after your remains have turned to dust! Your contribution to the world will last for generations to come.

@ Brain Klaas

The drive for "strong term limits" has always been supported by those seeking power and as soon as they get into power they have immediately become the strongest critics of fixed term limits. The lack of freedom of expression and a free press has allowed the incumbent leaders to create an aura of invisibility where everything is perfect or, at least, they are as good as they can be even when the nation is sinking fast. They then use this falsehood to justify why they should remain in power.

Look at President Joseph Kabila, for example, the DRC is the poorest nation on earth, according to some recent reports. A sorry state of affairs given that the country has so much wealth and potential and, given good leadership, that nation should be enjoying the same standards of living as in Japan or Europe. If DRC had been a healthy and functioning democracy; with such a pathetic track record of failure, Kabila would have never been elected in the first place much less talking of running for a third term!

Forging “strong term limits that cannot be bent or broken” will be a start in our struggle for good government in that it will help ensure Africa’s corrupt and incompetent leaders do not stay beyond a maximum time period. We will still need to work on how to change the rest of the constitutions and open up our political systems so that corrupt and incompetent leaders are never elected in the first place!

We in Africa are not supposed to reinvent the democratic wheel, the Greeks did that for us, we are supposed to just copy and apply it but you would not think so given 2 500 years later we are still a long, long way to having a healthy and functioning democracy. I wonder whether we, in Africa, will ever have a healthy and functioning democracy!

You did not say Tsvangirai is NOT corrupt is just another way of dithering, particularly when you go on to say "But to be honest who else is there comrade?" If you were convinced that Tsvangi-rai is indeed corrupt, incompetent and a sell-out then only a fool would still follow him because there is no one else!

We are in this mess because there are millions of Zimbabweans out there who were foolish enough to believe Tsvangirai would deliver democratic change. They really did not have a clue what those changes were and that is why when Tsvangirai failed to deliver any of them they did not notice is.

These people have had two years to think through why the GNU failed to get even one reform implemented. People like myself and a few other have spent the last two years very patiently explaining to them what happened. And still they do not understand or come up with stupid statesmen like I did not say Tsvangirai was NOT corrupt.

We need to call a spade a spade because we are not going to get out of this mess until we learn to face our weaknesses head on. So let me ask you what you would call someone who would follow a village idiot even after he has proven that he is indeed a village idiot?

I call someone who follows a village idiot an idiot because that is what he or she is.

Zimbabwe is in this economic and political mess because we have millions of idiots out there who have blindly followed a corrupt, incompetent and murderous tyrant for decades and for the last 15 years they have followed a corrupt and incompetent village idiot!

I am not here to tell you what you want to hear, Mugabe and Tsvangirai are doing that, I am hear to tell you what you ought to hear - the truth!

South Africa should be careful to who it grants citizenship because granting it to people with an IQ of idiots will end up lowering the average IQ of that nation. It is not as if that country has a high IQ baseline now looking at Zuma and Julius Malema!

It will not be long before there is a diamond mining consortium from Belarus, they know there is a fortune to be made in Zimbabwe and they will be wanting to Join China, Russia, Israel. India to name but a few countries who are now heavily involved in the looting and plunder of Zimbabwe's diamonds 24/7.

I will be frank with you, I have spent the last two years explaining to what one would call Zimbabwe's middle class why the opportunity to bring about meaningful democratic change during the GNU failed. The great majority of them still do not understand that it was Tsvangirai who sold-out.

These people have 13 years or more of formal education and many even have university degrees and yet they have no clue what democracy is about. It there was a free press in Zimbabwe I think many of the rural people would understand that Tsvangirai is corrupt and incompetent, they have common sense. The same cannot be said of the middle class!

The Greeks invented democratic system of government 2 500 years ago we only have to apply the system and yet fail even with the benefit of 2 500 years of time and all the other benefits human civilization has brought.

Yes, Zimbabwe is just another African failure and if the truth be told it is hard to see how the nation will ever recover given we have so many brain-dead people!

@ Shumba

You are right that Mugabe has played his power game so he got the benefit of all that has gone rights whilst blaming everyone else for his failures. He has had the great fortune of having some of the most incompetent leaders both in his own party and opposition.

Zimbabwe is in serious economic trouble because of the decades of mismanagement and corruption but instead of the MPs addressing these problems parliament is wasting time blaming the economic meltdown on sanctions. MP Chinotimba and Mpofu have been making complete idiots of themselves over the imaginary sanctions issue.

The MDC idiots have done Mugabe a great favour by failing to implement even one reform during the five years of the GNU.

@ Murewa

Itai Dzamara was abducted in broad day light by individuals in unmarked vehicles in a typical state security modus operandi. Zimbabwe is not Nigeria or Iraq with known terrorist groups like Boko Haram or Al Qaeda. Zanu PF is known for its intolerance of political critics and Itai Dzamara had dared to demand that Mugabe must go after his decades of failed leadership.

Of course the French Ambassador is right to blame Zanu PF for Dzamara’s abduction. If the regime thinks it can intimidate the French into silence just as it was hoping to do on the rest of the Zimbabwe populous by abducting Dzamara, the regime has another thing coming.

Zimbabwe Light said...

MDC-T is on record saying "No reform, no elections!" so what reforms have been carried out now?

MDC failed to get even one reform implemented during the GNU when the party had the golden opportunity to do so. Mugabe bamboozled and bribed the MDC leaders into kicking the reforms into the tall grass. MDC sold out during the GNU and party lost all political credibility; SADC and the international community have deserted MDC in droves including the party’s donors hence the UK fund raising.

MDC is a party of corrupt and incompetent individuals, it is not going anywhere. The party is now torn between demanding reforms and taking part in the elections with no reforms; just another example of the confusion one would expect in party led by village idiots!

Thomas Mapfumo's talent as a great musician is there for all to see for themselves but what makes him stand towering above many equally talented people is his love for justice and those less fortunate then himself. It was his love for justice and freedom that resulted in him crossing swords first with the white racist regime of Ian Smith and later with the corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF. He was one of the few Zimbabweans who saw Tsvangirai and his MDC friend for the corrupt and incompetent village idiots they are. He did not hesitate calling them "sell -outs"!

Mapfumo's courage, vision and principled stand over and above his great musical talent is what has made him special! He is truly a son of the soil - "mwana vevhu"!

In 2008 millions of Zimbabweans voted for what they believed was a "viable alternative", Tsvangirai and his MDC friends. Of course they have since proven to be a waste of time since they are just a bunch on corrupt and incompetent village idiots.

What is really disappointing about you and millions of others just like you is your willingness to accept the next "viable alternative" before you have learned why MDC were not. How will you stop repeating the same mistake you made with MDC?

Zimbabwe Light said...

Mugabe and Tsvangirai can talk until they are blue in the face they have both lost political credibility with anyone with any common sense. What the country needs to end the present and worsening economic meltdown is real economic reforms and neither Zanu PF, MDC nor some coalition of the two have the gravitas and vision to deliver those reforms.

If Mugabe and Tsvangirai think they can take anyone for a ride once again as they did during the GNU then they are in for a big surprise. They can fool the Zimbabwe electorate but no one else – the Zimbabwe electorate are not going to help in anyway with the economic recovery.

Whether Grace admits that she harbours ambitions for the presidency or not is irrelevant what matters is she will never be president. The economic meltdown is now so serious that Mugabe is finding it impossible to hold on to power. 35 years of Mugabe's misrule has taken a heavy toll on the nation and the consequences are that no one in Zanu PF will be able to rule the nation now!
