The Israeli government, through Nikuv, is the greatest threat to democratic change in Zimbabwe!

Leaders like Robert Mugabe has a fundamental weakness that can be traced back to the days of slave trade; they will happily sell their own kith and kin into slavery for a piece of calico cloth  and a handful of beads! The slave trade was abolished over a century ago, thank God. And yet millions in Africa continue to suffer and die in dumb anguish, denied their basic rights and human dignity by their fellow blacks just as happened during the dark days of slavery.

For the last 33 years Zimbabweans have been fight to end the Mugabe dictatorship so they too can enjoy the fruit of democracy and good governance. It is wholly unacceptable that their hopes for a better future were once again ruthlessly dashed because Mugabe had help from an Israeli company Nikuv.

Nikuv corrupted the voters roll so that nearly one million voters were denied the right to vote on election-day. It is no exaggeration to say it was Nikuv who delivered election victory to Mugabe considering the tyrant's winning margin was one million.

What chance does the impoverish and politically enunciated ordinary Zimbabwean voter have against a tyrant like Mugabe with all the looted national wealth at his disposal and all the State institutions to back him. The David vs Goliath contest becomes an impossible one when companies like Nikuv throw their technical clout behind the tyrant.

This is not the first time an Israeli company has been involved in Zimbabwe's politics on the side of Mugabe. This is simply intolerable and it must stop!

The Israeli government and people are always talking of Israel as an island of democracy in the middle of a troubled region. They are always condemning the other nation for their autocratic rule and threat they pose to Israel. Why is it then that Israel has no qualms when it comes to sponsoring and exporting the same autocracy to other countries including Zimbabwe?

It is inconceivable that the Israeli government and people are not aware of how Israeli companies like Nikuv have sold our national hopes for a democratic government for thirty pieces of silver. And yet both the Israeli government and people have said nothing. They would be up in arms if any other nation was involved in such criminal activities affecting them.

What Nikuv, the Israeli government and people must know is that the people of Zimbabwe know they have tyrants selling the nation’s hopes and dreams for a piece of calico cloth. They also know that there are unscrupulous companies and nations propping up these tyrants. The people are poor, powerless but they are not stupid!

I agree, the Israelis do not like Mugabe and for very good reasons too! For a start Israel has a mortal enemy in Iran who have vowed to swipe Israel off the face of the earth and probably will if they had the nuclear bomb. The Iranians are working hard to get one and nothing would please Mugabe more than to supply them with all the Uranium they need.

Of course there is no Jew on this earth who does not know of Iran's hatred of Israel and the grave danger of an Iran with a nuclear bomb. But wave a thirty pieces of silver in the face of some people, there is absolutely nothing they will not do.

Now that Mugabe has rigged the elections and is back in power, the tyrant has his fingers crossed that the negotiations to force Iran to abandon her Uranium enriching plans will fail. Of course Mugabe does not trust anyone at Nikuv and if Iran can nuclear bomb Israel and kill all the Nikuv staff and their data Mugabe will be very pleased. He will know that his vote rigging dirty is safe!

Mugabe would have got his cake and ate it too. He got Nikuv to help him rig the elections and then effectively silence Nikuv too. The fact that millions of others innocent Israelis will be killed in the process will not bother Mugabe.

It did not bother Nikuv, nor the Israeli government who were aware of what Nikuv was up to, that millions of Zimbabweans desperate for democratic change will have to suffer and die under this Mugabe tyrannical rule. If the whole of Sub-Sahara Africa should remain under remain under one tyrannical regime after another to the end of time; that will not bother Nikuv people as long as the tyrants pay them their thirty pieces of silver!

Not everyone is prepared to do dirty work and helping a tyrant rig elections is as dirty as it get! This was bloody work with far reaching consequences and not many people with a conscience will have the stomach for it! Nikuv did the dirty work, Mugabe won the elections and the rest is history!

Well if you are Mugabe, you do not have to serve the people to "win" elections. You employ a totally detestable company like Nikuv to tamper with the voters roll and the spend billions bussing a few paid idiots to vote for you and to rig the vote.

Mugabe did not win the July 2013 elections; he rigged the elections. We should get the story right!

@ Rafique

How did Tsvangirai save the people by failing to implement even one democratic reforms?

It is surprising that even now, with the benefit of hindsight, anyone can still not see the critical importance of the reforms and what a blunder Tsvangirai made by failing to get even one reform implemented.

All one can say is it is not everyone who has eyes who can see. It is not everyone who can see who is able to comprehend. In Tsvangirai we have a leader who can neither see nor comprehend and, sadly, we have millions of Zimbabweans similarly afflicted. And to crown it all, they have a vote!

So what hope is there for a nation already stuck in this hell-hole of ever getting out when it is a matter of the blind leading the blind!
