Zimbabwe's economic and political mess is getting worse not better - continued Zanu PF rule is unthinkable!

Tsvangirai and MDC's breath-taking and blundering incompetence is a matter of historic record. Only the blind MDC supporters will deny or defend that record.

Mugabe rigged the July 2013 elections, that too is a historic record which cannot be denied or defended. Mugabe is stubbornly refusing to release the voters roll for scrutiny because he knows it will only add to the mountain of evidence of the vote rigging.

You can deny the vote rigging; that will not change a thing. What is of paramount importance now is to ensure Mugabe does not get away with the vote rigging, not this time.

Mugabe had hoped that whole world would forget he rigged the elections soon after Tsvangirai withdraw the court challenge. And yet here we are, three months after the elections it is still a hot issue. He is shrewd enough to know the vote rigging is not going away but is helpless to do anything else. He is not in control of events, events and others are!

Minister Chinamasa has postponed producing the November national budget because in spending over $3 billion rigged the elections, Mugabe also inadvertently bankrupted the nation. The Ministry of Higher Education received $50 000 out of its annual budget allocation of $ 380 million these last year. That is less than 0.002%! How can the nation survive without money.

The proposal for Mugabe and Zanu PF to rule until the next elections in 2018 offers no hope in ending the country’s economic and political crisis in the short term or long term. Anyone who thinks Zanu PF will implement any meaningful democratic reforms now, without the pressure of the GPA, is being naïve and fallacious. The proposition must be disregarded with the contempt it rightly deserves!

There are plans afoot already to uncover even more evidence of how Mugabe rigged the elections, force him to release the voters roll, etc. The plan is to make it impossible for anyone to continue this political charade that Mugabe is anything else other than illegitimate.

The July 2013 election results must be set aside; have all the GPA democratic reforms implemented and carryout the necessary institutional reforms; throw away the rubbish Copac constitution and write a democratic one; produce a clean voters roll; etc. and then hold fresh free, fair and credible elections. That is the way, the only way, out of Zimbabwe’s political and economic mess!

God helps those who help themselves. Zimbabweans have really done very little to end the autocratic dictatorship in Zimbabwe. Praying alone is not going to change anything!

Mugabe has turned Zanu PF into a party of thugs and ruthless murderers. When Mugabe and Zanu PF decided to undermine the country's democratic institutions and create a de facto one-party dictatorship, that was the point of no return. Zanu PF can not be a reformed; either Zanu PF continues in its autocratic ways and complete destroy the country or Zanu PF is destroyed before it destroyed the country. Right now it has done a good job of both, destroying the country and itself.

When Mugabe and his Zanu PF friends decided to have a one party dictatorship, like Julius Caesar burning the ships after landing in Britain, they know they was no turning back. Now the party has come to the end of its line. It is the people who now have to make the all important decision either to let Zanu PF destroy itself and the country or save the country by forcing Zanu PF out of office.

Zanu PF will never give up power nor will it ever stop in its destructive way; that much is clear.

@ Chimbwido

Did you read the report on how the Ministry of Higher Education received only $ 50 000 out of the budget of $380 million - that is less than 0.002%. Mugabe squandered so much to secure victory in the July 2013 elections he sucked the life out of the national economy. Zimbabwe is broke.

Mnangagwa and Mujuru, the "nationalists who will never destroy what their party stands for," as you say; have all played their role these last 33 years in bring the nation into this sorry state where government is so broke it can only pay key ministries 0.002% of their budgets!

Chimbwido, you and many others in Zanu PF are in denial that Zanu PF is now in self distract mode. Your denial is irrelevant; what matters now is that it is. The greatest worry now is to make sure that Zanu PF does not implode and take the rest of the nation with it!

The over simplistic approach of Former President Mbeki bellies the irrationality of his argument.

"If you talk to the South Sudanese President Salva Kiir, and ask him if President Bashir should be transported to The Hague, he will say no. He says [no] 'because I need him for the peace that we are trying to make'," Mbeki adds.

From this, it is clear that it is only President Bashir who can make peace! So far he has been making war which is why he is wanted in The Hague for crimes against humanity and yet, using the former President’s twisted logic, the same murderer is the only one holding the key to peace.

It was the then President Thambo Mbeki who proposed the formation of the Government of National Unity (GNU) following the sham 2008 Zimbabwe elections. The principle reason the GNU was formed was to allow Mugabe to stay in power although he had clearly lost the elections.

People like former President Mbeki really believe Africa’s leaders are special and they should be held to account like everyone else. How can anyone believe that someone who has shed innocent blood of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of his fellow country men and women can still be a man of peace beggars belief!

Africa needs men and women who are willing to face the continents demons, past and present, straight in the eyes and tell them no one is above the law. Only then can the continent start the hard climb out of the nightmare of ignorance, corruption and political repression.

KP reports have proved to be wrong in the past and it seems it is so again this time.

The late Chindori-Chininga produced a parliamentary report early this year that showed that none of the government official knew the half of what was going on in Marange. This report is saying the exact opposite!

We also know that Mugabe must have squandered over $3 billion in rigging the July 2013 election and most of that money came from the sell of diamonds. According to Partnership Canada Mugage made $2 billion in 2012 alone; a far cry from the $717 m KP says Zimbabwe made in the same period.

The KP has no statutory powers to force anyone to say anything; parliament has.

Many Zimbabweans know Chikane wants the ban in the trade of Marange diamonds lifted regardless of the lack of transparency in the industry. Well some of us care about that.

Other than the shop filling with goods again the GNU did not change much else really. Mugabe squandered at least $3 billion in rigging the July 2013 elections sucking the last breathe out of the national economy it no wonder a Ministry of Higher Education told parliament last week they got $50 000 out of a budget allocation of $380 m. So things are definitely set to get a lot worse than the GNU days.

Mugabe throw everything he had at rigging the elections and that is all he is capable of. If you expected Mugabe to do anything regarding putting the economy back on track then you are naïve. Mugabe ran out of ideas on the economy years ago.

Zanu PF is set on a self-distract path and already there is clear evidence that the party is imploding. We have a simple choice either we decouple, and time is running out, the rest of the nation from the Zanu PF runaway train or it will smash through the last barrier and go over the edge into the abyss dragging the nation with it!

Seeing the country burning and reduced to ramble will gratify Mugabe's sadistic disposition: it will prove, as far as he is concerned, that he was the only man who could rule Zimbabwe. Allowing Mugabe and Zanu PF to rule the country till 2018 will give them the time to drag the nation over the edge. If the nation was to make it to 2018, the Zanu PF dictatorship will still rig the next elections and stay in power. Zanu PF will never give up power, it is not in the nature of tyrannical regimes to give up power regardless of how badly they have performed!

Mugabe and Zanu PF must be forced to accept they rigged the elections and are therefore illegitimate. They will have no choice but to accept the reforms and then fresh free and fair elections.

Mugabe and Zanu PF did not use "constitutional" means to get into power! Since when was it constitutional to rig elections - name one country with such a constitution. Just because Mugabe has done it for the last 33 years does not mean it is constitutional!

Mugabe rigged the elections, that means he is illegitimate and therefore a usurper.

Zimbabwe desperately needs to get out of this political and economic mess and the only way out is by holding free and fair elections.

America and Europe have already refused to accept Mugabe as the legitimate head of state in Zimbabwe. All one has to do now is collect even more evidence of vote rigging - there is a mountain of it and Mugabe is seating on some of it in the form of the voters' roll - so that even SADC and the AU will be forced to admit Mugabe rigged the elections. I leave it to your imagination - your home-work, if you like - to figure out what will happen next!

@ Mike

Mike, if you were as wicked as these Zanu PF men and women, you too grateful for some peace and sleep whenever and wherever! These men and women have long forgotten what it means to have a peaceful night sleep; they are haunted. Charles Dickens is one of the few writers who really understood what it means to be haunted!

Remember the restless night Ebenezer Scrooge had in The Christmas Carol? Whilst Scrooge was given a chance to redeem himself; Mugabe and company are told in no uncertain terms that they are sins are too numerous and too serious to be forgiven. Mugabe nightmare ends with him being hunted down and killed like a diseased as happened to his mate Gaddafi. Now imagine having the same haunted visitation night after night after night.

These Zanu Pf thugs hate the night because whilst the rest of us have a peaceful slumber they have to face the demons of their wicked past alone in the dark.

They used to take sleeping pills, particularly, when they know they will be attending a public gathering where they cannot afford to drop off. But as you can see those demons are both stubborn and determined, not even a massive over dose would foil their plans. Hence the minute Mugabe and his thugs seat down, the drugs finally kick-in and they drop to sleep on mass like a group of heavily sedated chimps!

You have heard of the saying “There is no rest for the wicked!” Well what you are seeing in the photograph are the faces of tormented men have to sleep in public places when – only place they feel safe – because they are haunted every night without failure!

Zanu PF's end is near and it is bound to be bloody. Dictatorship are like stars they have violent life and explosive and quick end. What Zimbabweans should be concerned about is that the explosive end does not engulf the whole nation.

We had our chance to remove Mugabe and Zanu PF from power but thanks to MDC's incompetence and Nikuv's treachery the dictatorship in still in power, Now we must jettison the regime as quickly as possible. A Zanu PF explosion/implosion with the party still in power is the nightmare scenario because the whole nation will be caught in the explosion with nowhere to hide.

It is one thing wishing for the demise of Zanu PF but without thinking careful how that is to happen the party will split but split the nation into tiny fragments too. Think of Zanu PF as 500 tonne unexploded bomb, you want it to explode yes, but you should not be anywhere near it when it goes!

How is it possible that the "land seizure liberated Zimbabwe's agricultural sector" and yet the nation has year on year since the seizures failed to produce anywhere near what it was producing before the seizures. 2.2 million Zimbabweans are facing starvation right now and are having to rely on imported food bought by donors. The Zimbabwe government has no money to buy the food.

Ever since the farm seizures the national economy shrunk by a record breaking 84% in the six-year period 2002 to 2008 alone. It was a hammer blow to the head; the economy has never shown any signs of recovery.

These phony research keep talking of the agricultural success although the reality on the ground tells a complete different story. Mugabe should stop spending millions of dollars on PR and propaganda designed to paint a false picture of a thriving Zimbabwe when the truth is a failed Zimbabwe is glaringly obvious for everyone to see.

Mugabe rigged the elections and is now refusing to make public the voters because he knows it will reveal even more evidence of the vote rigging. He had hoped that the issue would be forgotten; it has not been forgotten and his continued refusal to release the voters roll is further proof of his guilt.

Mugabe is not going to get away with vote rigging this time, take it from me! For a start, I am not talking about anything else because nothing else matters!

@ Zimbabwe United

Succeed in doing what? Destroying the economy, that is all it has done! If you really think the people of Zimbabwe are going to accept a situation in which millions are condemned to a life of abject poverty whilst Mugabe and his cronies own all the land; you are really naïve.

Zimbabwe is going to have free and fair elections and the land issue will be addressed properly. Mugabe rigged the July elections precisely because he did not want the people to have their say on the land issue and many others issues.

That is precisely why we are pealing the evidence of vote rigging so that Mugabe will be forced to accept that he rigged the elections.

First things first, get Mugabe and his illegitimate regime out and everything will be dealt with properly and decisively!

@ Tichaona

Tichaona, the meeting was billed to be a "no holds barred" but turned out to be a damp squid! Of course there was vote buying and vote rigging, Mugabe knew it but all the talk of Mugabe "sorting" it out was just hot air. Both factions were involved; the losing side was complaining only because they had lost not because they had not tried to rig the vote themselves. This is a case of the pot calling the pan black!

As for Mugabe, both Mujuru and Mnangagwa know he rigged the July national elections just as he had done over his 33 years in power. The iron of him reprimanding his subordinates for rigging party elections which are of no consequence when he had just rigged the national elections at great cost to the nation was too obvious for even the seasoned tyrant himself to ignore.

The turf war in Zanu PF is only relevant to the nation because we are stuck with the dictatorship. The party is in self-destruct mode and the real worry is that it is dragging the whole nation into the abyss with it. And Zimbabweans are sleep walking into all this!

This is the first time Mugabe has taken away something from the ruling elite. He gave them the vehicle to ensure they would not de-campaign him as happened in the 2008 elections. They did not and now he is taken away the bribe.

A few days ago Mugabe promised the civil servants a hefty pay increase, nearly doubling the wages of those at the bottom. If Mugabe is being forced to take away the bribes from the rich what chance do the poor have - they are the first ones to be robbed of everything so he can give the rich ruling elite.

The Civil Servants can kiss good bye to the hefty pay rise!

The country and Mugabe himself are really broke!

@ Rekai

Mugabe murdered the over 30 000 Zimbabweans so he can have this de facto one-party dictatorship and absolute power. The ordinary Zimbabweans have no say on how the nation's resources are distributed and the country is governed which is why mismanagement and corruption have been rampant forcing millions into a life of abject poverty.

Unemployment soared to 80% plus ten years ago and has stayed there ever since.

In case you have not heard, Mugabe rigged the July 2013 elections so he and his cronies can stay in power and continue with the corruption and brutal repression. The tyrant squandered at least $ 3 billion in rigging the elections; sucking the little life still left in the economy.

The future is grime; as long as Mugabe remains in power the country's no future. None!

You want Zimbabweans to "move on". Move on to where?

What are you wittering about that they should not "open old wounds!" They are the ones who are the victims of this brutal dictatorship and they are the ones at the coal-face of the daily economic hardship and yet you are accusing them of opening old wounds. Mugabe inflicted the wounds and he is the one rubbing salt and pepper into the wounds!

"Why open old wounds"! What a stupid thing to say!

@ Mavheti

MDC's economic policies were not worth the paper they were written on, that I can not deny. Still many Zimbabweans would have voted for MDC rather than Zanu PF, including myself; that is how much the people hated Mugabe and Zanu PF. The tyrant knew that too and hence the reason why he rigged the elections.

Well vote rigging is a serious crime. Treason ! I will be damned if I was to allow Mugabe to get away with treason!

If have never questioned the Israelis' resourcefulness and I have no reason to doubt that black Africans have visited Israel in droves. What is at issue here is how Israel has repaid the blacks.

It is a historic fact that Israel had a cozy relationship with Apartheid SA, helping the racist regime stay in power at the expense of the suffering oppressed blacks. And now it seems Israel is back in Africa selling a whole nation's hopes and dreams to tyrant like Mugabe.

"We'd never do anything for so cheap!" Of course not! Nikuv was paid US$ 13 m and that was only the start of it. Now with Mugabe back in power and corruption rampant, no doubt Israeli companies will be going to Zimbabwe in droves.

What Nikuv has done is what defines national relationship for generations and your reckless remarks only serves to show that this was not an accident but a deep seated contempt of the blacks' rights, hopes and their very lives!

Corruption and greed knows no limit. Most hard working Zimbabweans, the few lucky enough to still have a job, would consider themselves "rich" if the earn $83 000 in their whole life. Chiyangwa's wife is asking for that every month plus farms, business, etc. The pair of them have never done a single day's honest labour!

We really need to end this Zanu PF dictatorship now - not in 2018, now!
