Mugabe co-opted the security chiefs into the brutal Zanu PF dictatorship - that is corruption!

Mugabe was at it again praising the security chiefs key role in the Zanu PF dictatorship.

“Every one of the commanders from the police, air force, army, then combined forces, prison service, they all are commanders deriving from the struggle. All of them, they fought the struggle. Tsvangirai ran away from the struggle. He actually ran away!” Mugabe said.

“And they (security services chiefs) are the protectors of the nation, you cannot tamper with an army.”

Here is the tyrant who has corrupted the nation’s security organs by co-opting the top brass into the Zanu PF dictatorship. The Police, Army and CIO have turned a blind eye to Zanu PF’s ruthless drive to subset the country’s democracy to establish and retain a brutal de facto one party state. Indeed these institutions have carried out some of the party’s heavy dirty work; they have done most of the killing of the over 30 000 innocent Zimbabweans murdered for selfish political gain in the regime’s 33 years in power.

The security chiefs have had the lion’s share of the corrupt deals and looting that has destroyed the country.

“They all are commanders deriving from the struggle. All of them, they fought the struggle,” says Mugabe.

As if after fighting in the struggle the security chiefs could not help but be the corrupt and oppressive murderers they have become. As if having fought to remove the white oppressors they were compelled to step into their shoes and become the next oppressors themselves. It was impossible for them to be or do anything else, impossible.

The real tragedy in Zimbabwe is that Mugabe has been allowed to get away with this twisted narrative of how he has corrupted the nation’s institutions for his selfish political gain. Tsvangirai and MDC’s deafening silence, intended or not, has given mileage to this lie!

@ Black

Whilst I cannot dismiss your argument still I think you would agree that by publicly stating that this was not an accident but murder the family and friends were sticking their heads above the pulpit. That being the case, then why not stand up; if they can shoot the head, exposing the rest of the body is not going to increase the risk to one's life.

Beside, are you sure we are not being sucked to the same tiresome Tsvangirai and MDC leaders have been dishing out to the nation when asked why they had failed to get one single democratic reform implemented. "Mugabe refused the reforms," they will say. But look closely and it is evident they never even tried to have any of the reforms implemented!

Are you sure anyone even tries to have an independent autopsy carried out?

I too suspect that Chindori-Chininga's death was no accident. I fear he is not going to be the last one; there will be many more politically motivated killings. I am certain of that because by failing to have these murderers properly investigated and those responsible punished we are sending a clear message to these thugs and murderers that they are above the law. They can continue to terrorize and murder with complete impunity!

Considering Chindori-Chininga may well have been murdered precisely because he stuck his head and demanded accountability the least we could have done to thank him was to at least try to find out what happened to him.

@ Rafique I agree with you there. This election is about getting Mugabe out and it really does not matter who gets in. If you could get the donkey to stand against Mugabe, many people will vote for the donkey.

This is going to be THE NEAREST to a free and fair election a tyrant like Mugabe will deliver. But having tasted that right the people are not going to let an incompetent leader like Tsvangirai take hat away from them.

Tsvangirai will not serve the full five years!

@ ehe-ehe

You see Mugabe and you Zanu PF supporter you really do not get it. Not to worry, you will when the results come out.

This is not about Mugabe vs Tsvangirai. This election is about booting Mugabe out of office after the 33 years of being cheated, corruption,
beaten, raped and over 30 000 murdered by the tyrant; this year the people will have another chance to vote him out of office. That is what this election is about; Mugabe, hate and revenge!

Tsvangirai is merely the stacking horse; we could have put donkey if that was allowed. Trust me people would have voted for the donkey just to get Mugabe out.

Mugabe can start splashing the billions he has been putting aside from looted Marange dia-monds. The idiot is using our money to buy
our votes so that he can loot even more.

“My Lebanese and Chinese friends are shipping plane loads of diamonds out of the country every day and have been at it for the last four years. The people of Zimbabwe will never see a cent of all this wealth. Vote for me so they can continue!” Mugabe might as well admit it. Every Zimbabweans would happily queue for days to vote just to make sure the moron LOSE the vote!

The headlines 1 st August 2013 "Incompetent Tsvangirai beat Mugabe a tsunami victory!"

@ Nkalanga

We should never be afraid of giving the electorate a choice. Not only does Ncube have a right to stand as a presidential candidate, he owes it to his party supporter to do so. The electorate must exercise their right to vote for the candidate of their choice regardless of whether he/she is going to win!

If you Tsvangirai supporters are afraid you candidate is not going to win and the Ncube votes will swing the result, then you should reach out to Ncube's supporters and persuade them with reason, not empty rhetoric and any accusing wagging finger, to vote for your man.

Many people say they want democracy but the same people will be undermining democracy in the next breath. You claim to be democrats but you are not. Your democratic credentials are potato-skin deep; you can rub it off!

@Chimbwido

We both know the answer to that one; I will not shut up.

The cat is out of the bag, Mugabe's election strategy is to use the billions looted from Marange to buy votes. Money that should have been used to fund schools and hospitals, to build Batoka dam so the country has reliable electricity supply, to fund the economic recovery so would be down to 5% instead of the current 90%, etc.

Mugabe is going to buy povo lots of food and plenty of beer, cheap cotton Zanu PF T-shirts and caps with the face of Mugabe printed on them. My task is to ask the people of Zimbabwe to ask themselves whether they are getting a fair deal; selling their chance for good schools and hospitals, etc. if the vote to end this Mugabe dictator or risk it all for a cheap T-shirt and a scud!

This year, unlike all other elections in the last 33 years, Mugabe will NOT be able to cheat or use violence, not as rampantly as before, and so for the first time the people of Zimbabwe have a real chance to have a meaningful say in the governance of the country. My hope is that they will make a sober and calculated decision.

By denying the people a free media and freedom of expression (which is why he and you are hopping mad about S W Radio Africa and other independent radio stations) Mugabe has a clear advantage; keep the people in the dark as to what this election is about. Well after 33 years of mismanagement, corruption, looting and brutal repression; the people know enough about Mugabe and Zanu PF to know they cannot be trusted.

You know this election is going to be tough, even you can now see it, and you are panicking and so you should!

@ Yepec

Yepec I do not mind you calling me all manner of names, etc. - you are not a full shilling. I do mind being lumped together with a murderous psychopath like Mugabe and his zombie fol-lowers. What is the matter with you for Pete's sake! Even a half-shilling like you should see the only thing I have in common with that tyrant is that we both belong to the same animal species called homo sapiens. If you have a quarrel about that, then take it up with the Lord, not me!

The trouble with you is you cannot judge Tsvangirai, purely on his own. He failed to implement the reforms because he was incompetent, period. (If you do not see the historic enormity of that failure, that too is your faulty. God knows I have explained that to you countless times.)Tsvangirai is one of the most incompetent leaders in modern human history that is fact.

Mugabe is a corrupt and murderous psychopath and tyrant that too is a fact.

You do not have the brain capacity to deal with the two concepts, Mugabe a tyrant and Tsvangirai an incompetent blundering idiot, at the same time. You are a half-shilling at the best of time, I accept that. What you will never get me to do is force me to shut my brain so I can "not" think like you. Not even by speaking my name is the same sentence as a tyrant!

We have a chance to set things right and put the nation back on the path of justices, peace and prosperity. These charlatans, and they are charlatans the lot of them, may have rob us of 33 years and many friends whose lives we have lost for ever. Still, we have tomorrow and the future; these are blank pages for us to write what we want. Thank God, not even the most corrupt and murderous tyrant and his army of charlatans can rob us or anyone of tomorrow and the future not without our cooperation, active or otherwise.

Every time these tyrants have closed the door to justice and human dignity the Lord open the window to let the light shine through and fresh air to caress the cheeks of the oppressed; giving them hope and, sometime, pointing the way out. I really believe this election, if Zimbabweans vote with their heads and not chubuku filled bellies, could mark the beginning of the long denied golden age of freedom, justice and prosperity!

@ George

Just for the record; I said if people approved the Copac constitution in the referendum they will "slam shut the door to all democratic reforms". I also dismissed the idea that they could be any meaningful reforms implemented in two weeks as nonsense. Tsvangirai is an incompetent blun-dering idiot; I accepted that a long time ago.

But George, this election is not about Tsvangirai vs Mugabe. This election is about Mugabe and booting him out of office after all these years of denying us, the people, that right and treating us as if we were his puppets to abuse, discard and ride rough shod as he pleased.

The only reason Tsvangirai’s name is on the ballot is that people need someone else’s name beside Mugabe’s name to vote for otherwise there will be no election. If it was legal to have donkey people will still vote for the donkey just to prove how much the hate Mugabe!

@ Ponderai

Well I can believe it. I have just been listening to a ZBC TV Zanu PF propaganda programme, see S W Radio Africa where Tafataona Mahoso and others were telling the people they will not be "use pangas but the pen" in this election and to “reject those who have betrayed them”. The programme raised three key points:

1) This a complete U-turn for Zanu PF; this is a party that has said “What was won with the bullet cannot be changed by a pen!” Mugabe himself has boasted of having “Several degrees in violence!” The reason for the U-turn is the party knows this year it can use violence but will risk being declared “illegitimate” and SADC will not be there to bail them out as in 2008. It is clearly that those Zanu PF thugs in Zvimba have not heard that they cannot use violence this time.

2) The nation would want to know why Zanu PF has consistently cheated and used violence in the past elections. It is real naïve of Zanu PF to think it can sweep all these last 33 years of brutal political repression under the carpet and expect the nation to move on, no questions asked.

3) If the use brutal force to deny the people their basic rights including the right to a meaningful vote is to treason and betrayal of what the nation fought and over 300 000 died for in the struggle for independence then what is!
