Appeasing Mugabe has been as futile as conceding to appoint the hyena the midwife - he got an ease meal!

I have never seen the need for me to hide behind a name like Chimbwido, Baba Jukwa or a myriad of other phony names , I have always used my full name because I have no reason to hide my identity. I have never done anything wrong.

However, I do know that there are murderous thugs who will beat rape or/and murder innocent people to silence them or to instil fear in the rest of the population for selfish political gain. Still, I decided to use my full name regardless not out of foolhardy stubbornness but because I know appeasing bullies, thugs and tyrants is futile.

Zimbabweans took the collective decision to give up their basic right to have a meaningful say in the running of the country with their first vote in 1980. They voted for Zanu PF to end the war because they know if Mugabe did not win the civil war would continue.

“Jojo siya zvenyika. Jojo angazofa!” (Jojo leave politics or you will die!) so goes Thomas Mapfumo’s popular hit at the time. He was putting into music the sentiments that were upper most in the nation’s minds. Sentiments drilled into the nation during the Zanla Pungwe (all night vigils) people forced to attend during the civil war. When you are looking up the business end of an AK47 rifle it is foolhardy to argue!

And yet, even in the face of all the beatings rapes and murders still was sheer folly for the people to have given up their basic right to a meaningful vote and say in the governance of the country for the simple reason that was their only way to stop the beatings, rapes, murders, mismanagement, corruption and looting.

Mugabe and his Zanu PF thugs were no more than the hyena demanding that it should be appointed the midwife or there will be no peace! Mugabe and Zanu PF threatened that there would be no peace, economic prosperity, etc. unless Zanu PF ruled. Zimbabwe is a de facto one-party dictatorship in which the people have been denied their right to held those in power to account, the ultimate expression of that being the right to remove them from office. All Mugabe and his cronies wanted was absolute power to do as they please. Tyrants and dictators do not care about peace, economic prosperity, no more than the hyena care about the mother and the new born!  All the hyena is after is an ease meal; since when have undertakers made good midwife!

Giving up our democratic rights and freedoms to appeasing Mugabe and Zanu PF did not bring the peace or economic prosperity but the exact opposite it allowed the tyrant to use the nation’s wealth to bribe his wasteful supporters. Mismanagement, corruption and looting have been allowed to grow and grow destroying everything of value and driving millions of our people into adjust poverty. And to silence the regime’s critics, opponents and the public at large the regime has used brute force; beating raping and murdering innocent people for selfish political gain.

The gave up their freedoms and rights to avoid the beatings rapes and murders only to have all these things and many more beside visited onto them a thousand fold! Of course it is folly to seek to appease a dictator by giving up one’s right to hold the tyrant to account. I will never succumb to such foolishness!

If I am going to be killed then I want to look the murderer straight in the eye and not bury my head in the sand! I want the would-be murderer to know I have made it my whole lifetime’s work to seek them out and to held them to account for the blood on their hands. If I die; the murderer(s) must know that there hundreds of thousands others like me who are just as determined to seek them out, that this is not over until they are punished and justice rule the land!

If you and your fellow Zanu PF henchmen are thinking of beating me up or murdering me then you better do so straight away because time is not on your side. The Zanu PF dictatorship is imploding.

Zanu PF is not a party with ideology, principle or anything; it is a party of ruffians and morons with one and one thing in common – insatiable appetite for power and wealth. For the last three decades Mugabe has increased the size of the civil service, parastatals and super numeral ministries such as Ministry of State for Liaising on Psychomotor Activities in Education – no one knows what Minister Josiah Hungwe is supposed to do all day let alone the next five years, to gratify his supporters’ need to be called “Chef”.

The down side was this has resulted in criminal waste of resources needed to support this blotted government, army, etc. Most of these political appointments have proven to be incompetent and worse, corrupt!

34 years of gross mismanagement and rampant corruption has bankrupted Zimbabwe causing unimaginable hardships to the millions of ordinary Zimbabweans but also to Mugabe himself. There are no cushy jobs to give away and the money to finance all the dodgy schemes from which the ruling elite have benefited in the past has dried up. This is happened at the worst time for these Zanu PF spoilt brats!

Mugabe is telling his party ruffians and morons, most of who have never done an honest day’s work these last 34 years they have to join the nation’s 80% unemployed and sink or swim. This is like being thrown out of the house just hours before night fall and a savage storm breaks! The ruffians and morons are already fighting each other and as the reality of a grim future ahead begin to dawn on them the fight will intensify in its savagery. It is the fight to the death!

As I said, Zanu PF is imploding and what the nation has to be careful about is that the tyrant and his gang of ruffians do not drag the nation over the edge with them! All those Zanu PF thugs who survive the implosion will be hunted down and held to account for the blood on their hands! It is not over until the fat lady sings, until justice rules the roost!

@ Chimbwido

If you think the economic melt-down is in the USA is in the same league as that in Zimbabwe then you are not serious. The formers has 9% unemployment rate and the wealth to ensure that those out of work are taken care of. Zimbabwe has 90% unemployment rate and even those in employment are barely surviving as it is now common for lowly paid staff to go for months without pay.

Of course, it is to be expected from the likes of you Chimbwido to be indifferent to the misery and despair millions of Zimbabweans are facing. The tyrant has just spent $1 million of his birthday bash when five kilometres away from stadium the mortuary has the remains of a woman who died in child-birth one of the five such deaths happening everyday around Zimbabwe. Next to her body that of a child who died of preventable diseases - one of 100 such cases happening everyday around the country.

Life expectancy was 68 years in 1980 when Mugabe came into power and today is has dropped to a mere 34 years. The country's health service has but collapsed because of chronic under funding.

Marondera Hospitals caters for the health needs of 2 million plus and yet in the last five years it would be luck if it got $1 million - yet the regime as much on Mugabe's birth day party!

Farai Muchena, the new acting Chief Executive of PSMAS replacing the discredited Cuthbert Dube who was looting a staggering $500 000 a month in salary and perks told a Parliamentary Committee that corruption in the organization is ‘a thing of the past’.

“Yes, it’s an issue of the past where among the administrative funds, some of them were going to salaries but I want to assure the committee that, that is the talk of the past,” Muchena said.

If I had dropped one penny in the pig-bank each time someone said that; I would be a billionaire. Not as rich as Mai Mujuru and others in Zanu PF but "filthy" rich by my poor povo standards!

Not even one of the thieving PSMAS executives have been arrested and not a single penny of the looted money has been recovered and already some idiot says the corruption will not happen again! Cuthbert Dube and his old thieving fiend knew corruption was rampant in Zimbabwe and everyone in position of power was at it including people like VP Mujuru and Mugabe himself. Indeed, one can even say particularly people like VP Mujuru and Mugabe himself; they have presided over the corruption all these years.

Corruption has become rampant because people like Dube knew even if they are caught red-handed nothing will happen. If anyone was to arrest him then they would have to arrest hundred thousand other executives in the parastatals, council, Police and the entire Zanu PF government leadership including Mujuru and Mugabe. Clearly was never going to happen; not as long as Mugabe and Zanu PF continued to have their iron grip on the reins of power!

Corruption is only going to be "a thing of the past" when the country has free, fair and democratic elections and Mugabe and Zanu PF are kicked out of office! That has not happened and therefore Farai Muchena is talking nonsense!

@ Mutakah

How would the people know they are being told the truth? How many times have we been told one thing only to discover it was a lie.

Mugabe said he was renting the US$ 5 million mansion in Hong Kong only to discover he had bought it!

Mugabe blatantly rigged the 2013 elections we all saw the bussed in voters and have all heard of the nearly one million voters who were denied the right to vote because Nikuv, Mugabe's vote rigging Jewish friends, had deliberately posted their names where they did not expect. Mugabe has repeatedly said he did not rig the elections but stubbornly refused to release the voters roll - the smoking gun to the vote rigging.

This Mugabe regime will say and do as they like because they are not democratically accountable to the people. The fight here is for free, fair and democratic elections and not for the regime to tell us another lie!

Zimbabweans have yet to learn that if they have justice, peace and economic prosperity they have to earn them by confronting those who threaten or deny them these things. As a people we have sought the ease way out sat back and waited for someone else, anybody to fight and liberate us.

Zimbabweans will tell you the country needs democratic change, they have saying that the last 15 years at least. And yet 90% of them including leaders like Tsvangirai and Biti do not have the foggiest what these changes are. That is why MDC failed to get even one reform implemented. And, the people for their part, did not even notice this monumental failure by MDC otherwise they would not have approved the rubbish Copas constitution by 95%!

Courage has nothing to do with standing for one's basic human rights including to right to life itself. t is common sense. In a nation with an average IQ of an idiot - common sense, I have to say, it a very rare quality!

Do not get me wrong Zimbabweans have the average IQ of a moron not because there I anything wrong with he physically. The good Lord gave the brain exactly the same size as anyone else anywhere on this planet. Whilst others have used their brains Zimbabweans have a great affinity for burying their heads in the sand or better still in the backside of their leaders. The brain, unexercised and starved o oxygen very quickly turns to fat tissue.

Until and unless the nation stop the dirty habit of burying their heads and open their eyes to the political and economic reality all round them Zimbabwe is not going to get out of this mess. People get the government they deserve; we deserve the tyrant Mugabe as much as we deserve the breathtakingly incompetent Tsvangirai!

@ Mike

What will stopping paying the contributions to PSMAS achieve?

With most of the workers going for months on end without being paid; I would say your wish of stopping the contributions "en masse" has al-ready been achieved. Given the country's nauseating 80% plus unemployment rate; you could not ask for more surely!

I ask you again; what has throwing millions of ordinary Zimbabweans into a position where their do not pay tax, council rates, etc. let alone contribution to medical aid achieved? Nothing, that is what that has achieved!

Even with the nation facing the most serious economic crisis even; that did not stop Mugabe blowing $ 1 million on a birthday bash. A week later he is going to host the wedding of our time - no expense spared!

As long as Mugabe remains in State House this tragic nightmare of human suffering and deaths will continue. Mugabe rigged the July 2013 elections; we all know it. If we are serious about bring an end to this tragic tale of human misery and waste of human lives then we must demand that free, fair and democratic elections and stop wasting time farting around in meaningless posturing!

@ Zoba

I understand. But you must accept the reality that by cowing down to Mugabe and Zanu PF's demands for absolute power the nation has paid dearly for is folly and gained nothing because the tyrant and his thugs still went on to rob and loot, beat, rape and murder innocent people.

The concept of democracy being a "government of the people by the people for the people" according to Abraham Lincoln is a very noble notion indeed. The success of the whole notion is totally dependent on the people themselves at least having an inkling of the pearl before them and thus cherish and guard it with their lives. When the people do not have he foggiest idea democracy is about it is no wonder they will happily sale their people power - their vote - for T shirt or a beer! To them the right to a meaningful vote is no more valuable than the pearl is to a swine!

Mugabe and Zanu PF have managed to loot so much wealth that millions of Zimbabweans have been condemned to abject poverty have managed to beat and rape hundreds of thousands and murdered over 30 000. D all these things and get away with it again and again because Zimbabweans have their heads buried in the sand - they see nothing, hear nothing and say nothing. So Mugabe is free to do as he pleases and that is exactly what he has done.

Hiding behind your assumed name has not saved you from the consequences of the Zanu PF misrule; no one has been spared. And yet even now some people continue to delude themselves that as long as they continue to bury their heads in the sand they are safe. Open your eyes, my friend for you will see that Mugabe is nothing but a paper tiger!

SA’s institutes of higher education continues to expel Zimbabwean students on Mugabe Scholarship for none payment of fees. Many of the students are said to be destitute!

It is no secret that it is Mugabe loyalists' children who have benefited from these Mugabe Schol-arships. Just weeks before the elections last year Mugabe forked out $54 million to pay the un-paid fees to SA Universities- it was a sweetener to the loyalists. The tyrant was planning to rig the elections and needed their help.

Mugabe paid US$ 13 million to the Jewish company Nikuv who helped him corrupt the voters roll and thus denying near a million voters the vote whilst allowing Zanu PF youths to be bussed from one polling station to another casting multiple votes.

Mugabe is a tight fisted tyrant known for spending millions of dollars of public money on overseas trips and other luxuries whilst millions of ordinary Zimbabweans wallow in abject poverty and despair. His generosity with paying the fees was a one off rouse.

The SA students' parents and relatives helped Mugabe rigged the elections and now he does not care what happens to the students! In a way, justice is being done; the students are paying for the sins of their parents - the sin of rigging the elections!

If any of these students think Mugabe is ever going to lift a finger to a penny of the fees, then they are very naïve indeed! Or as one would say in Shona; “Makagarira guyo sembwa!”

How many times have people called for a land audit, the EU even offered to pay for it? If the regime had nothing to hide then why has it refused to have the audit?

More recently and of even greater importance to the nation; people have asked the regime to release the voters roll. Again the tyrant has stubbornly refused! We all know he rigged the July 2013 elections and the voters roll is the smoking gun!

There will be a thorough investigation of all the looting, vote rigging and political beating, rapes and murders once we have regime change. Mugabe and Zanu PF are drowning in their own mess, the regime is imploding! The writing is on the wall, people like you are merely clutching on straws hoping that would be enough to stop you going under!

@ Native Commissioner

Tsvangirai said the new Copac constitution would deliver free and fair elections; I said it as rubbish it would never deliver free and fair elec-tions. Who was right?

I suppose you are referring to the economic improvements of shops filling up again, the hyper inflation rates being brought under control, etc. People like you were always bound to be bowled over by things because you did not have the foggiest idea what is going on. There are two important policy changes that contributed to his economic miracle:
1) the scrapping of the Z$ - Chinamasa did that in November 2008 be-fore he GNU came into power in February 2009 so Zanu PF and MDC should get credit for that.
2) Biti as GNU Finance Minister removed the price controls

Even if one was to allow Tsvangirai to claim all the credit for the eco-nomic recovery from the desperate situation Zimbabwe was in in 2008 even an idiot like you must accept that the country's situation today is not a far cry from what it was back in 2008.

Tsvangrai has five years in which to implement the democratic reforms necessary for free and fair elections, the idiot did not implement even one reform. If he had then Mugabe would not be in State House and the country would not still be stuck in this mess.

Tsvangirai had the chance to end the Zanu PF dictatorship and save the nation from the suffering and deaths brought up them by the tyranny and corruption not just for this year or next five years or fifty year but for all time! What was the point saving the nation from economic collapse for five years only to see all those gains lost, literally, overnight and worse, lose the chance to save the nation from economic and political hell for all time?

You are not angry with Tsvangirai because you have completely failed, even now with the benefit of hindsight, to comprehend he enormity of Tsvangirai's failure and breath-taking incompetence. I am not angry with you, far from it! You are a moron, a nincompoop, whose mental ability is no better than that of cave-man. And like all morons you have the temerity of denouncing me with your stupidity!

You are an idiot ad idiots like you must keep their hands below the level of their head or you will be promptly put in your place! We are talking about the fate of nation here and have no time or patience or any of your nonsense!

Zimbabwe Light said...

@ Jackson

Wrong; people have a choice! We have had this corrupt and murderous Mugabe regime for 34 years because we CHOICE to let this happen. Do not try to tell all that nonsense of Mugabe and Zanu PF using brute force and rigging elections because that is just a feeble excuse.

For the first 15 years after independence, Zimbabweans actively supported Mugabe or turned a blind eye to his excesses out of sheer laziness. They choice to let the tyrant ride rough shod over them. Of course it has become increasingly harder to remove him from office because the fox had dug-in!

If we are ever to get out of this mess then we must confront our own demons, deal with our own weaknesses and shortcomings first or will be going round and round in circles. Indeed the reason why the GNU failed to end the Zanu PF dictatorship is exactly that - we were so naïve to think an idiot like Tsvangirai could change anything and thus wasted a real chance to end this Zanu PF dictatorship!

@ Pamwechete

After 34 years of tranny and corruption one would think people have learnt the lesson, sadly that is not the case. There are idiots like Khera who will never see Mugabe for the tyrant and murderer he is. Never! It is bad to be physically blind but that is nothing compared to mentally blindness; to see but not perceive to hear but not comprehend.

@ Mutakakah

You are right, you certain know "nothing about the rigging of elections". You do not have any common sense, because if you did you would not denying the elections were rigged.

Near one million people were denied the right to vote because their names were not in the voting ward they expected it to be. They did not know this because the voters roll was never made public and to this day, seven months after the elections Mugabe still refuse to release it.

Everyone knows Nikuv corrupted the voters roll to help Mugabe rig the elections. It is simple enough to see what Nikuv did why Mugabe paid those Jews the princely price of US $13 million the dirty and cheap trick is a complete mystery.

The tyrant is refusing to release the voters roll because he knows everyone would see how he rigged the elections.

People like you are easy to cheat and trick.

Even if the voters roll was made public and you saw the evidence; what would you do about it? Nothing because you have no self respect, you have no political spine to stand up and be counted even when your livelihood and very life is on the line!

Mugabe did not win the elections he rigged them; just because you are a moron with no spine to demand your basic right to a free and meaningful vote does not mean we should all be like you.

Only one out of the nine members of the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commis-sion (ZACCT) is still legally employed by the commission as of August 2013. They have done no work and yet all the members have continued to collect their salaries and claim expenses. A Herald report said that nine have spent almost $457,000 on hired vehicles in the period August to mid-December, 2013 alone!

Many people have said that mismanagement and corruption were a serious problem in Zimbabwe and that they were the root causes of the country's economic mess. Mugabe has vehemently denied that there was no corruption and instead blamed the economic mess on the targeted sanctions. The chickens have come home to roost mismanagement and corruptions have been allowed to grow and thrive; now it these monsters have become so big they are sucking the very life out of the national economy.

The story of how corruption has spread to the body that was supposed to stop corruption should dispel the notion by some naïve people that the regime could be reformed. Mugabe and Zanu PF are set in their way the only hope for Zimbabwe is for the tyrant and his thugs to be forced out of power.

It never rains but pours!

Zimbabwe suffered serious power cuts on Thursday 27 February 2013 follow-ing a transformer fault at Hwange Power Station, ZESA said. The power authority has suffered the ill effects of years of under investment made much worse by the mismanagement and corruption.

ZESA has not been spared from the salarygate scandals that have hit almost every other big government run/controlled institution.

A few weeks ago the Zanu PF MP for Zaka told the listeners on a live radio chat show, Zimnet Radio, that there were no power cuts in Zimbabwe. I do not think the idiot would dare repeat his nonsense now! This is what comes out of rigging elections; Mugabe and these MPs know that they are not in power be-cause the people elected them, he was saying all that nonsense to please Mugabe who rigged the vote to ensure his election victory!
