The Rampant Corruption is proiving to be Mugabe and Zanu PF's final undoing!

"So far the Herald newspaper-led revelations have only targeted officials linked to Vice President Mujuru’s faction, exposing how they drew stupendous salaries from state-linked firms with zero accountability.

It is widely believed that Mnangagwa’s front-man and Information Minister Jonathan Moyo is behind the disclosures in the State media," wrote S W Radio Africa.

Let me tell if Jonathan Moyo can select and shoot down only Mujuru supporters in the Council, in ZESA, in PSMAS, Air Zimbabwe, etc., etc. leaving Mnangagwa managers and directors in the same bodies untouched then he must be the best marksman of all times. Such a man can shoot down an ant from a distance of 100 kilometres away.

If Moyo thought he could discredit Mujuru alone by exposing the corruption and rot that has infected everyone in Zanu PF, their own supporters and Mnangagwa and Moyo themselves; then he was wrong.

Whoever started this expose, whatever they motive; the reality is the gene is now out of the bottle and there is no putting it back!

Zanu PF has always there was corruption and blamed the country's economic melt-down on the sanctions. The stories of rampant corruption could not have come out at a worse time for the regime then now when the economy has taken its worst even nose dive. The link between the economic nose-dives and the rampant corruption and looting is obvious.
There is no way the economy is going to recover from this nose dive, not as long as the corruption and looting continues. And the corruption and looting is not going to stop as long as this Zanu PF dictatorship remains in power. But the economic collapse is Zanu PF’s demise; the tyrant is the author of his own demise as all tyrants always do!

The much heralded Friday 14 February 2014 Zanu PF politburo meeting where all member “were instructed” by Mugabe to attend, came and went. Nothing was achieved.

The Zanu PF spokesman, Rugare Gumbo told reporter that Mugabe will take "decisive" action against corruption but "the problem has to be identified first and we have to do something about it but first we must establish facts".

First of all corruption has been going on for 34 years and is now rampant because the regime has done nothing about it all these years. Second and more significantly it is not only the few who have named in the recent salary scandals who are corrupt; corruption reaches everyone in the regime including Mnangagwa, Mujuru and Mugabe themselves. How can those involved in corruption investigate themselves? The politburo’s only action here is to once again kick corruption into the tall grass!

If Zimbabwe is ever to end the corruption and do something about economic recovery; first we have to remove this corrupt regime.

The Mujuru faction have taken up the chorus that it is only their supporters who have been targeted in the many corruption exposes.

"You can see that the leaks are very strategic. Why haven't they leaked how much Zimbabwe Mining Development Corporation or what executives of diamond mining companies are earning, for example. There is certainly an ulterior motive to these exposures," said the politburo member.

There has been a lot of corruption in the mining sector and a lot other sectors; that much is true. Still it is preposterous to think that appointments in all top PSMAS or Air Zimbabwe positions were all done in strict party factional terms, given that these bodies have changed factional hands again and again throughout the years. Even more preposterous is the suggestion that the truth about the corruption in all these so called Mnangagwa control sectors can remain hidden for much longer!

These Mujuru supporters should be apologising to the nation for their years of uncontrolled greed and waste. Instead of being repentant these idiots are complaining that corruption should have never been public knowledge. Never ever! And they are very angry at all those who have exposed these stories!
They are not concerned about the corruption or the tragic human suffering it has caused. All they are worried about is that the exposures are threatening their own chances of winning the presidency so they, and not the other faction, can continue the looting.

Well the people of Zimbabwe have suffered enough and want all this looting to stop now. And stop it will!

@ Bobsled

Mugabe is the one who has masterminded the corruption and looting all these years; "to buy support and keep hatchet-men happy", as you have rightly said. The tragic reality is destroyed the hopes and dreams of the whole nation for freedom and human dignity in his selfish pursuit of absolute power. In the end the power and wealth Mugabe and his hatchet-men has sort after are all slipping away from they grasp because these were not real but a transient illusion!

For 34 years Mugabe and his hatchet-men have made the lives of millions of ordinary Zimbabweans hell-on-earth. Now they regime is coming to and end; they are not only going to lose all they have looted but will have to account for what they did including the blood of the over 30 000 they murdered. Their living hell is only just beginning!
