The $1 million birthday bash and now this $100s million wedding are Mugabe's middle finger "eat cake" salute to the long suffering Zimbabweans!

Robert Mugabe's one million dollar birthday bash and now this multimillion dollar wedding are the tyrant's  middle finger "eat cake" salute to the long suffering people of Zimbabwe.

The tyrant is spending hundreds of millions of dollars of taxpayer's money on this wedding whilst millions are facing an told hardship because the nation is starved of funds. The people have been totally helpless; they could not stop this criminal waste of national material resources and the tragic human suffering it has brought because, like all tyrants, Mugabe is not accountable to the people. His answer to the cries of anguish is the two finger salute!

Mugabe’s extravagancy will be seen as excessive in a rich and prosperous country even if everything was paid for from wealth earned from the sweat of his face. That is not so here! Mugabe’s birthday bash and now this no-expense spared wedding are obscene and an affront to justice here on earth as in Heaven because the tyrant is paying for them using money stolen from the poorest of the poor and the most helpless of the helpless!

What the people of Zimbabwe have to realize is that they have to stop burying their heads in the sand and wait for a failed leader like Tsvangirai to get them out of this mess. When he had the chance to do just that he and his MDC friends got distracted by the trapping of the good life Mugabe gave them and after five years in the GNU failed to get even one democratic reform implemented. The people must now wake up to the political reality that a lazy, naïve and gullible people will never enjoy peace, justice and economic prosperity - that is just a fact of life.

Ever since the country attains its independence many Zimbabweans swallowed Mugabe and Zanu PF's empty promise of "mass prosperity" (gutsa ruzhinji) if they gave up all their democratic rights including the right to a free and meaningful vote and the right to think. For the last 34 years Zimbabweans have done nothing to end their own brutal repression and they are blissful wallowing in their own misery. Helpless as an infant!

Lately Zimbabweans have turned to God for deliverance. "By the sweat of you face you shall eat bread," said the Lord when He banished Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden. Of course the answer the good Lord would give to all this sorrowful but nonetheless self-indulgent laziness is “You too shall eat bread by the sweat of you face or starve!”

It is within the powers of mere mortals to end this Mugabe and Zanu PF reign of terror. It is not for the Devine to do what man can do for himself. The good Lord gave man the discerning mind to know what is right from wrong and act accordingly. But if an individual, a group or in this case a whole nation should choose not to put to good use God’s greatest gift to mankind -  the superior brain; then they should not be surprised that even the little they have will be taken away.

If Zimbabweans are waiting for Devine intervention and deliverance from this Mugabe and Zanu PF nightmare then they will wait in vain. Not even Mugabe’s death will bring any comfort because there are many other, equally corrupt and ruthless, waiting to take his place! The only way out of this is for the people of Zimbabwe to answer Mugabe back with their own middle finger salute and kick the tyrant out of State House!

The people of Zimbabwe are not really helpless victims of this dictatorship; they have chosen to be powerless victims and that is not quite the same thing!!

@ Ruwa

You are right even if Mugabe was to say he was spending only $10 000 I would have complained because I know he would be lying just as you are lying that it will not cost a penny of taxpayers' money to have Koffi there.

In 2009 Mugabe lied that he was renting the $50 million Hong Kong mansion for Bona and two months ago we learnt that he had bought it. Last year the tyrant once again rigged the elections and once again lied that he did not. Of course he will have no qualms about being very economic with the truth about the true cost of this wedding. After all it is not him but the ordinary Zimbabweans who will pay for everything or be it indirectly in that them will pay the bill but not have a say what was bought or will they benefit in anyway.

Either you are one of the Zanu PF ruling elite who have benefited from the corruption and want it to continue regardless of the tragic suffering to has brought to millions of ordinary Zimbabweans. And/or you are one of Mugabe’s thugs who have shed innocent blood and are scared stiff of being called to account if there was regime change.

Or you are one of those Zimbabweans who are have been bowled over by Mugabe’s rhetorical bull-shit; you cannot not see the trees from the wood.

Whoever you are it is irrelevant because Mugabe’s obscene excesses, the rampant corruptions of in every sector of the economy are clear signs that the national economy is in terminal decline and the regime is imploding. The corruption and Mugabe excesses are no different from a bacteria culture in a Petri dish – the corruption and excesses are at their peak and the regime will collapse having eaten everything!

Mugabe has soared to nauseating heights his fall from there will be dramatic and the results will not be a pleasant sight! As one would say in Shona, “Kana chigoma choririsa chava kubvaruka!”

@ Jackson

Here we go again "These (MDC and Zanu PF, Tsvangirai and Mugabe) are the only viable options now"? The two are not "viable options"! The one has failed to implement the democratic reforms necessary for change and the later established this dictatorship we are now trying to dismantle. So how can these still be viable options.

The nation's failure to see MDC and Zanu PF for what the disasters they are and see them instead as "viable options" is very reason why these parties are in power and will remain in power for years. If they are viable then why reject them!?

I thought you had some working brain but it seems you have as much fat tissue as the millions of others out there. Your brain is as impermeable to reason as any other idiot!

The mystery was not how Nikuv corrupted the voters roll, that is simple enough which is why Mugabe has refused to make the voters roll public because every will see what Nikuv did. The mystery is why Mugabe paid the princely price for work that high school dropouts would have done for peanuts!

The real tragedy is Zimbabwe has more than its fair share of matununu! Many of them have seen the health services collapse over the years, for example, and have even buried many loved ones who would be alive today if it was not for this corrupt and murderous tyrant, Mugabe. And yet they are there at the front cheering and applauding this criminal waste of resources and humanity!

People like Ruwa matununu anoitira tsina mutsime!

Nofool and the other Zanu PF morons are now beginning to see the reality of the Zanu PF implosion and the certainty of regime change and justice. They are really worried now and rightly so too! The way they keep going on and on about the land it is a clear sign they are desperate. When Mugabe rigged the July 2013 elections, for example, he was cheating ordinary Zimbabweans and denying them their basic right to a free and meaningful vote. What have these people to do with the land?

Mugabe and goons like Nofool have shed the blood of over 30 000 innocent Zimbabweans; ex-cept for the 20 or so white farms, the rest were ordinary black Zimbabweans victims of white oppression only to be butchered by fellow blacks. They crime was that they dare demand their rights and freedoms!

I am so pleased that the regime is imploding, having sucked all life out of the national economy until there is nothing left, the thieving morons are now at each other's throats fighting over the last scraps! Mugabe and Zanu PF are finished!

@ Senzachena

History has the habit of repeating itself my friend. Zimbabweans had a chance to create a just and democratic system of government in 1980 when the country attained its independence, that did not happen. We ended up with this corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF regime.

In 2008 and throughout the GNU years the country had many, many chances to end the Zanu PF dictatorship but, sadly, all those chances were wasted. Because of his breath-taking incompetence Tsvangirai failed to implement not even one democratic reform.

Unless the people of Zimbabwe take time out to understand why we are where in this political and economic mess we are in today we can have our Arab Spring but will only replace one tyrant with an incompetent idiot or worse! No we must take the trouble to know where we are, how we got here, where we want to go, how we plan to get there, etc. etc. and not just dive in as before and hope for the best!

What business are you into because the only business going on in Zimbabwe is corruption. All the honest businesses have long closed and hence the 80% plus unemployment rate in the country.

Your business is licking Mugabe's a***, you know and I know it. Of course, you will never admit and I am not asking you to.

Mugabe is a corrupt and ruthless tyrant who has destroyed the country's economy forcing millions of ordinary Zimbabweans into a life of abject poverty and despair.

The regime has labelled anyone who has spoken against its abuse of power a counter-revolutionary, a puppet of the West, etc., etc. That has not changed the facts on the ground that Mugabe is a corrupt and murderous tyrant and the suffering has grown worse and worse!

During the slave trade there were blacks who sold their own fellow blacks to the white men for a piece of calico cloth and a handful of beads. There are many such blacks today.

People like Mugabe selling the nation's diamonds for a song to the Chinese and Israelis. Denying Zimbabweans their share of the nation’s wealth and murdering them to silence their crying for justice. Then there people like you employed to carry out Mugabe's dirty work of silencing the people so you can have the scrums falling off the tyrant's table. Only a thwart like you would call that a gainful and legitimate business activity!

I pleased that the regime is on its last legs and we will have a chance to learn what business rats like you have been doing. If you have shed innocent blood; you will hang, that is my promise to you!
