Chinamasa says scraping Z$ damaged the economy. Is he minister of nonsense!

Is Patrick Chinamasa the Minister of Finance or the Minister of Nonsense because to say the scrapping of the Z$ in 2008 damaged the economy is nonsense!

“The migration from hyperinflation to multi-currency did a lot of damage to our economy. It pitched our cost structure too high and unsustainable,” he told a parliamentary committee on finance.

Remember the nation was not facing a two or three percentage digit inflation rate but world record inflation of 500 billion%. Prices were changing so fast that if you picked a product from the shelf by the time you got to the till to pay for it the price would have doubled. Was it any wonder the shelves were empty, it was impossible to do any business for shop owner and customer alike.

Things were so bad that Bank imposed a limit to how much their customers could withdraw a day, which was not even enough to pay the bus fee back home! What a life!

Minister Chinamasa tells us the workers were over paid after the scrapping of the Z$, what a load of rubbish. Civil servants were paid an “allowance” of $200; even government was too embarrassed to call such pittance a wage or salary. Many civil servants still earn $400 or so today six years later, why government call that a wage is a complete mystery.

How the likes of Cuthbert Dube, the CEO of PSMAS, have come to earn $ 500 000 a month and some Ministers have become multi-millionaires, literally overnight, is something Minister Chinamasa should have left no stone unturned and had rooted out. In the end he failed to stem much less stop this criminal haemorrhaging of public funds by the top managers and board members whilst the institution is so starved of funds it cannot carry out even the most basic service it was created to provide and the lowly paid workers are not paid for months on end!

We all know the Zimbabwe economy is in a dangerous nose dive because of the decades of gross mismanagement, rampant corruption and an all-out looting spree of the last fifteen years. Donors and investors have shied away from Zimbabwe because they know the regime cannot be trusted to uphold the rule of law; they fear being the next victims of the looting brigade.

The country’s economy is in the ICU because this Zanu PF regime has denied there was no corruption, etc. allowing these cancers to grow and spread. We need these cancerous tumours removed now or the economic meltdown will continue and drag with it millions of our people into new depths of grinding abject poverty and despair.

Zimbabwe needs a Minister of Finance who will tackle the country’s economic problems and not one who spends the day daydream solutions to imaginary problems. Of all the feeble excuses given by this corrupt and incompetent Zanu PF regime for the country’s economic woes blaming the scrapping of the Z$ in 2008 sure takes the biscuit.

“Multi-currency did a lot of damage to our economy”! Indeed! What are you; minister of nonsense?!

The fight to be VP in Zanu PF is heating up amongst former PF Zapu leaders. Why anyone would want to be VP of a party that is itself dying is beyond me.

Zanu PF has failed to delivery mass prosperity but has delivered instead mass poverty. The party has failed this nation and is per se now totally irrelevant. The party is rotten to the core and is already curving in on itself. It was the party leaders’ insatiable greed for wealth and political power that turned the party into the monster it has turned on the very people it supposedly liberated and was meant to serve denying them a meaningful share of the nation’s wealth and denying them their basic rights and freedoms including the right to vote and even the right to life.

Zanu PF has destroyed so many good things in the country included many, many human lives and in the end the same corruption and greed has destroyed the party itself.

The demise of Zanu PF is not to be mourned but celebrated because now the nation has a chance to rebuild the shuttered economy and give all Zimbabweans their human rights and dignity. Three decades of absolute power and

Anyone of the Zanu PF idiots who think the party will survive the current political crisis to rule another day is daydreaming. Those fighting to inherit the rotten to the core and collapsing party are fighting over nothing and must be ignored. Kutungana kwembudzi uku!

@ Whichfool

It is not my shouting that is bringing Zanu PF crashing down, it is the decades of misrule; the blood sucking vampire bats has suck the life out of the national economy and now they are feeding from Zanu PF loyalists themselves.

Poverty does not ask for a party card only for how much you have in your pocket. Zanu PF party grandee like the late Nathan Shamuyarira did not have much and poverty moved in. By the time he died he was as poor as a church mouse but, more significantly, he KNEW Zanu PF had failed and that it is should go!

Only the stupid idiots in Zanu PF would still want the party to continue to exist when it clearly serves no one. But since when have idiots been left to decide the destiny of a nation for long! The Zanu PF idiots have had their say and it is now time for the voices of reason to be heard!

@ Mqakiso Ngwenya

Zanu PF has given up on delivering mass prosperity, "gutsa ruzhinji" as Mugabe used to fondly call it. All the party cares about now is how to hang on to power and what their have looted and, for many of them, to keep a lid of their murderous past.

If there is going to be a end to this economic nose dive and the tragic human misery it has brought then it is us the people who have to force the regime to give up power. It is not in the DNA of tyrannical regime to ever give up political power and Mugabe is not the one who is going to break that time honour tyrant's code.

The problem is time for peaceful change is fast running out whilst the people dither and wait for a miracle, Zanu PF delivering gutsa ruzhinji. But soon the mob will step in and demand change in their own chaotic way of riots or worse! What is clear is the economic nose dive cannot continue for much longer!

There is no doubt that the only thing that these dinosaurs in Zanu PF care about is power; they really do not give a damn about the ordinary people. Even now with millions of our people groaning in abject poverty these morons have not yet notice that Zanu PF has failed to deliver on any of the things the nation went to war against the white colonialist for.

If people like Msipa think Zanu PF can continue to hide over this nation roughshod as it has done these 34 years then they really belong to the period when dinosaurs ruled the world and not this age where it is the intellectually gifted humans who rule the world!

The Zanu PF and PF Zapu unity accords secured the leaders of the later party permanent seats of the gravy train. What the nation wanted was to have the gravy train decommissioned and it will be decommissioned for it running full steam ahead and the idiots are too drunk to notice the track-side signs! DEAD END AHEAD!

Anti Corruption Commission members to be appointed.

What has they ever done other than be a burden to the nation? This is an illegitimate regime with no credibility and so no one really gives a fcuk what it is doing. All we are demanding from it is for it to fcuk off! And fcuk off they all will!

@ Rashweat Mukundu

Gone are the days when it was only povo who were poor whilst the ruling elite enjoy a life of unimaginable leisure and luxuries. When you hear that Zanu PF grandees like the late Nathan Shamuyarira lived for years in abject poverty and died a pauper, you know times have changed.

Mugabe has taken to taking turns with Mai Mujuru to go to Heroes Acre because the shefs too are dying like flies, just like the rest of us. Life expectancy has drop from 68 years in 1980 to 34 year in 2004 is being felt amongst the ruling elite too. The nation's health service has but col-lapsed; only two people (names withheld) have access to a very healthy health service in Singa-pore!

Mugabe knows the economic is in total meltdown and the cash from ZimAsset was supposed to kick start. He has been staring at the ZimAsset begging bowl for over a year, he knows it is empty and that no one is going to contribute not even a dollar.

He was talking of an economic turn around knowing fully well that there was none. Indeed the economic meltdown is getting worse with each passing day. The only way out is for him to resign so there can be fresh free and fair elections. He is hanging on to power hoping for a miracle to happen.

This nation is sitting on health and social disorder ticking time bombs; we cannot afford to wait for Mugabe's miracle!

@ Servious Lonke

Stop wondering and do something to stop this madness.

The single most important thing Mugabe has ever done to secure his one-party dictatorship was convinced millions of Zimbabweans out there that he knows best and they are never to question him. He will decide where the nation is to go and the rest are to follow; wondering to themselves and never out loud where they are going.

Even Zanu PF grandees like the late Nathan Shamuyarira subscribed to this Mugabe nonsense; he lived for donkey years in abject poverty and died a pauper. Of course he must have seen that the Mugabe was leading the nation astray, that the Zanu PF political system was doomed; was sucked him, just as it had sucked millions povo before him, into a life of abject poverty and despair. And yet he, like the hundreds of other Zanu PF grandees over the years, said nothing to Mugabe about it. He suffered too felt helpless and thus suffered and died in silence.

Shamuyarira like the rest of the nation accepted Mugabe’s conditioning that he alone knows best because we did not want to think for ourselves. Man is a thinking animal and those who have readily given up their singular human strait should not be surprised when their very lives have been reduced to that of a donkey to carry others burdens for little reward.

People like Nathan Shamuyarira were at the very heart of the Zanu PF juggernaut and could and should have stopped it but instead chose to “wonder” what will happen next. Well, no one can say he did not get the answer he rightly deserved; the juggernaut mauled him just as it was mauling the ordinary people, for years he too lived in abject poverty and die a pauper.

Stop wondering and start thinking. Mugabe is just a fallible mortal like you and me of course it is nonsense that he is not to be questioned! He rigged the last elections denying the nation the right to electorally question him to accept that result is to per se accept that he is not to be questioned!

He rigged the elections committing treason and he must go!
