Mugabe turning impoverished parents into criminals if they fail to pay school fees, a bad wolf bully tactic!

It is intolerable that this regime has destroyed Zimbabwe’s economy forcing millions of our people into a life of abject poverty. It is absolutely criminal that the regime is now seeking to turn the real victims of its misrule into criminals because they are too poor to pay their children school fees.

“Parents have a responsibility to take care of their children because it’s you who gave birth to these children. I don’t remember saying education is for free,” education minister, Lazarus Dokora said recently.

“Take that list of parents who don’t want to pay to the magistrate’s court so that they are called one by one and swear to God that they will pay the fees. You cannot blame the headmasters for that.”

Zimbabwean parents, as a rule, have been very response and have willingly made great sacrifices so that their children get a good education. The country’s economic situation with its nauseating unemployment rates of 90% plus and high cost of living has left many parents hard push to provide one decent meal a day for the family. For many families it has come to choosing between paying school fees or starve.

The standards of Zimbabwe’s education service have fallen to unacceptable levels over the years. A year ago 82% of those who wrote their “O” levels passed five subjects or more because of the chronic under funding by government.  The few who have made into to the various institution of higher education have all been thrown on the unemployed mountain; making many question the value of education and all the time and resources spent to get it.

It is totally intolerable that so many of our people are having to choose between educating their children and starving. Choosing education has become a disappointing choice because the of the substandard quality of education on offer with little prospect of landing a decent job even for the few who soldier to the bitter end. What is heart-breaking is all these problems are a result of decades of misrule by this Zanu PF government.

The regime’s attempt to turn the table on the parents, the victim of its misrule, and criminalise them if they should fail to pay the school fees is nothing but the pre-emptive bad wolf tactic drinking upstream blaming the sheep downstream of fouling the water!

We in the Zimbabwe Social Democrats condemn all this relentless bullying and tormenting of innocent by this tyrannical Zanu PF regime. We are sickened by it all!

“Africa would be patient with SA so it could address its skewed ownership of resources for the whole continent to benefit,” Mugabe told African diplomats in China.

Mugabe is only happy when he is spitting into someone else face or poking their eyes out. Normally it is the “white imperialist, led by the British and Americans”; now it is SA! The late President Nelson Mandela stole his limelight by stepping down from power and he is hanging on like barnacle to a dead whale. And as if that was not bad enough, SA’s econ-omy has grown in leaps and bounce whilst the Zimbabwe economy has wither and shrunk!

Last week Mugabe public criticized SA at the SADC meeting and now he is back on his new found theme. President Zuma should know that Mugabe will be attacking him every time he has a chance. The Zimbabwe tyrant is like a wasp, it has no honey to protect, but its sting is even more painful than a bee sting!

Here is the man who has fcuked up his own country that SA has had the good will to ac-commodate millions of Zimbabweans running away from the political repression and economic chaos the tyrant has cause. Instead of a thank you the idiot has the cheek to tell SA how they should run their own affairs.

If President Zuma thought that by allowing Mugabe to get away with the vote rigging, he would wash his hand off the tyrant, he now knows that was a blunder. He allowed a snake shelter near his home content that it will feed on rats but now he finds, too late, the slithering reptile has been feeding on his chickens.

One only hopes that President Zuma has learned his lesson; next time he gets a chance to cast the treacherous viper in the fires of hell, he will finally do what he should have done years ago!

@ Captain Sankala

Was it colonialism that had a $1 million birthday party and a $ 5 million daughter's wedding when 100 children are dying a day of preventable diseases?

Mugabe has hidden his looting, vote rigging and brutal repression behind the fictitious war against colonialism but the winds of time have blown the smoke screen away. Not even my aunt in the rural backwaters believes that nonsense!

We all know you have loot to protect and your hands a red with blood of the innocent Zimbabweans you murdered at Mugabe’s behest. Well you know you do not deserve to keep the loot and for the blood on your hands, you deserve the hangman’s rope! The game is up my friend, the wheels of justice took decades to catch up with Mugabe and now the end is months away!

@ Rovambira

You do not need to be an Engineering to know about Zimbabwe's power cuts.

Zimbabwe has some really competent engineers, doctors, teachers, etc. and many of them are still in Zimbabwe today under employed or worse unemployed. I have never bought that bullshit story that Zimbabwe has gone down the tube because skilled Zimbabweans left the country.
Mugabe appointed a whole bus load of dusted up Zanu PF loyalists as ZESA board members because these are political appointments, merit has never played a part in this for the last 34 years!

No doubt ZESA board members are going to make a killing from the Gwayi Power Project in generous allowances each time the drive down there!

The years of mismanagement and corruption have taken their toll and the economy is now in total meltdown.

@ Djoser

The Chinese have exploited Zimbabwe, whatever they are giving Mugabe now they have made ten times that this year alone. Mugabe is selling the nation's jewels for a song and they are grateful for it!

The Chinese are smart enough to know the game is up for Mugabe and that is why they have been careful whatever money they spend in Zimbabwe now is spent well and they will be paid back. Mugabe wanted a free hand out and they said no. So Mugabe will come back to face the same problem, how to pay civil servants let alone all the other luxuries his cronies are used to!

Meanwhile the economic meltdown will not go away because China signed a $ 2 billion Gwayi Power Project, it is going to get worse because the underlying causes of mismanagement and corruption are still there!

No, Mugabe is not out of the woods. He is not getting out of this, not without stepping down or being hunted down and shot as happened to Gaddafi! Mugabe is finished!

The Chinese have been careful to talk about the Robert Mugabe before independence because after that they know a Mugabe has become one of the most corrupt, neurotic and murderous tyrants in modern history. China has benefited greatly from his misrule, they have bought many things for song thanks to the corruption! Whatever the Chinese give Mugabe now, of course they will made a big song and dance about it; the truth is they have made hundred or thousand fold from the looted Marange diamonds alone.

It seems China has been very careful to sign deals on tangible projects like the $2 billion Gwayi Power Project, this will not help Mugabe. He needs cash to pay civil servants and all the other luxuries his cronies have become accustomed to getting. Zimbabwe's economic meltdown is set to get worse and pressure for Mugabe to go will increase too.

Like it or not Mugabe is finished; he will certainly be saying goodbye to his Chinese friends this time and not cheerio!

Minister Francis Nhema says three of the foreign owned banks have complied with the regime’s demand to sell 51% share to blacks.

The foreign banks operating in Zimbabwe include Barclays, Standard Chartered, Standard Bank, Nedbank, Ecobank and Bank ABC. The Minister did not say which banks had complied with the law.

The regime has failed to fool any foreign investors with its promise to change the empowerment laws and so it is reverting to its fault setting - loot! It has not sunk in that the policy of looting does not mean anything if there is nothing to loot but with the economic meltdown getting worse and worse, it will sink in!

“Under such circumstances it becomes difficult to attract direct foreign investors and aid. It creates the wrong perception about our country. Zanu PF is the face of government; it’s not just a party,” said Cephas Msipa.

It is tragic that people like him, with a complete silver head and therefore one would expect to be the wisest of the wise, have instead grown stupid with age. He was stupid in his younger days but now he is worse!

Foreign investors have not shy away from Zimbabwe because of the infighting in the party but because the party has always been lead by thugs with no idea where they were going. Their cat fights whilst the nation burns only shows their shallowness.

If you had any brains at all Mr Msipa then you should told Mugabe that he was fcuking up the country years ago. If you have anything to say now then it must be telling that 90 year tyrant with jet-black dyed hair is to fcuk off!

@ Rovambira

My single most important contribution is to make sure that this corrupt and tyrannical regime fcuks off into the sunset of history and the loot they stole is recovered so the nation can start the difficult process of rebuilding the nation. All your suggestions are stupid because you have failed to grasp a simple basic fact that nothing of any value can ever be achieved whilst these murderous thugs remain in office!

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has promised visiting Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe that China will continue to support the development of Zimbabwe and Africa as a whole. Well what good is that to a tyrant whose economy is in totally meltdown!

Mugabe need cash lots and lots of cash to feed two beasts, mismanagement and corruption, whose appetites know no bounds; they are the ones sucking the life out of the economy. Muga-be was hoping that whilst the two monsters feed on the cash from China he will have some left over to inject into the starved national economy. These two beasts are going to continue sucking the life out of Zimbabwe’s comatose; they feed on cash and not “promises to support Zimbabwe’s development” even from the Chinese!

Of course Mugabe should have never allowed mismanagement and corruption to grow and thrive; he did because they served him and Zanu PF’s primary objective of retain absolute power at all cost. After 34 years; these two evils have grown and so too have their insatiable appetites and now they are sucking all the nation’s wealth and resources and wasting it all. The only way the nation will ever get rid of these evils is for Mugabe to go.

Mugabe is the Medusa on whose head the snakes, mismanagement and corruption, grow. Cut-ting off one snake will achieve nothing since ten more have grown in its place; we have to cut of the Medusa’s head off. Mugabe must step down now.

By the late 1980s the SA economy and political turmoil had reached the point where the apart-heid regime had no choice by to accept that it was going nowhere. Mugabe and Zanu PF must realise that their reign is similarly doomed. The important question now is whether the regime will have the good sense to step down peacefully or hang on to the bitter end as other tyrannical regimes have done.

It is this helplessness "I am waiting for whatever comes my way" that has made Mugabe such a towering leader who has crapped all over his fellow Zanu PF leaders and they have taken it all without ever complaining. Mugabe warned his party leader come the congress “Don’t cry!” and here we are Oppah Muchingura is grovelling in the dirty like a dog with a broken leg!

Of course if Mugabe can afford to crap all over those in power like Oppah Muchingura what more of my poor aunt in the backwaters of rural Zimbabwe?

Mugabe is supposed to be the first amongst equals in Cabinet and in his party but given all this cowardly grovelling it is easy to see why he has since assumed the mantra of a demigod! No wonder the country is in such a mess; for 34 years we have had a lunatic doing as he pleased and those who are supposed to stop him were s***ting themselves with fright!

Mugabe and all his Zanu PF cohorts must go; yesterday is not soon enough!

@ Josepher Madlanduna

In their desperate effort to remain relevant they are diverting the nation's attention on issues that Mugabe would only be too glad to discuss because it takes the attention away from the fact the tyrant rigged 2013 elections and since then has failed to deliver on any of his economic recovery promises.

MDC-T October congress is now in doubt because the party has no money to fund it.

"Donors are not forthcoming and the coffers have dried up," admitted a senior party official.

Of course the donors are not forthcoming; why should anyone want to waste money funding a party that is so incompetent it failed to implement even one single democratic reform although it still claims to be a party, a movement, for democratic change!

When the donors literally begged MDC not to take part in the elections without the reforms in place they knew Mugabe would rig the elections otherwise; MDC paid no heed and the tyrant went on to rig the vote. The donors deserted MDC in droves, as MDC MP Samuel Sipepa Nkomo has since admitted. If anyone in the MDC thought the donors would come back to them then the reality must now begin to dawn on them that donors do not eat vomit! MDC leaders have proven to be so breathtakingly incompetent on such a key issue that it really is impossible to forgive them – they are as foul as vomit!

A copy of a salary schedule leaked to the Bulawayo24 indicates that directors of ministries and government departments are now grossing US$1962 in salaries and benefits, up from US$914, with effect from April, while their deputies are taking home US$835. With regards to principal directors, their salaries went up to US$2 878, from US$2 265.

This comes against the standard practice whereby the salary gap between government employ-ees, by their grades, should not exceed 30%. In addition, the directors earn other benefits which are not extended to their deputies such as a ‘representation allowance', among others. Middle level managers earn US$565 while the least paid government worker takes home about US$400.

As the economic meltdown continues to get worse Mugabe will be looking at bribing those in top positions to buy their continued loyalty. He is fighting a losing battle in that since the national cake, the economy, is shrinking fast the numbers of officials he can reward has had to reduce by say 80%. So if he started with bribing Y, after the first period he bribed 80% of Y, second period 64% (or 80% of 80%), third period 51.2%, etc. After 34 years of this it is easy to see how those who are still benefiting from Mugabe’s bribes has shrunk to the point where directors in the ministries are paid but not their deputies and how party grandees like the late Nathan Shamuyarira had lived in abject poverty for decades.

For years the deputy directors had accepted the system as long as they got their share of the looted wealth. Now the tyrant is cutting them out, they will be highly critical of the system.

This Zanu PF kleptocracy is not economical and socially sustainable and the sooner Mugabe and his cronies accept this reality the sooner the nation can do something about it!

"I don't think it's a game changer in any significant way, unless there are details that they are hiding from us," said John Robertson, a private economic consultant in Harare.
"If they take off, some infrastractural projects will create some jobs here and there, but what the economy is looking for is massive investment in industry, in mining and in agri-culture to help create real strong structures," he said.
That looks unlikely.
Stephen Chan, a southern Africa expert at the University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies, said Mugabe's proclamation of economic "indigenisation" in his suc-cessful re-election campaign last year was an "own-goal" disincentive to further foreign investment.
Mugabe has denied that there was mismanagement and corruption in Zimbabwe for years and these problems have grown to the point that they are now sucking the very life out of the national economy. Anyone who believes there can be any meaningful economic recovery whilst these cancerous tumours are still there is daydreaming. Mugabe cannot do anything to remove these tumours because they grow out of him as the snakes grow out of Medusa’s head.
The only way to end the mismanagement and corruption is for Mugabe to step down or for him to face the same fate as Medusa – cut off his head! The long Mugabe hangs on to power the more likely the people are to revolt. Whilst the end point of violent revolutions is always uncertain one thing is always certain, the people will be united in wanting to see the end of the tyrannical regime!

@ Biberwallgoal

The last thing CCP would want is to be seen to be throwing good money at a failed tyrant like Mugabe who will only waste it. Mugabe went to China hoping to get ease money but even the CCP had the good sense to fund concrete and very specific and deliverable projects like the Gwayi Power Project. That will not save Mugabe but will save CCP from further criticism!

I hope that the pressure against the CCP will result in some real changes in China. The day the Chinese people elect their government in free, fair and credible elections will be the GREAT-EST day in China!

“This idea of attacking the party leadership destroys the organisation,” said Manicaland Youth League vice chairperson, Mubuso Chingunu. The whole country is in chaos because of Zanu PF’s decades of misrule and Mugabe’s autocratic rule in particular. How anyone could fail to see that beggars belief. If people like Chingunu had any brain at all they would be asking for an end to autocracy and not more of it!

The reality is that Mugabe cannot rein in the warring factions now because there is not much loot with which to entice them; cushy appointments, generous contracts and loot were the super-glue that has held Zanu PF together all these years. The economic meltdown has hit the poor but it has not spared the ruling elite either. The infighting in Zanu PF is ostensibly for power but if power was not seen as the only escape from poverty, the fighting would not be the dog-eat-dog we see!

I suppose as having been brought under an autocratic system there is a yarning for it especially now that Mubuso Chingunu is himself/herself is a position of power and therefore to crack the whip for a change. It has not dawned that the old order is died but it will soon enough!

Simon Khaya Moyo is the one who said "Zanu PF would rule until the donkeys have horns" only a few weeks ago: now his eyes are opening to the reality that the party is servicing no one, not even the ruling elite, So why should this failed party rule the nation for another day!

Zanu PF is collapsing and simple Simon is fighting a loosing battle!

It is true that the Police brutality is "satanic" but this is very hollow coming from the man who had five years to reform the Police and end this abuse. Mr Obert Gutu was one of the top three MDC leaders whose support of the Copac constitution was solid as a rock. He assured the nation the new constitution was going to deliver free, fair and credible elections as well as the basic individual rights like the right to hold peaceful demonstration. Did he think it would happen regardless of the "satanic" Police?

This nation was let down by breathtakingly incompetent leaders like Obert Gutu and Morgan Tsvangirai and the sooner these MDC supporters realise that the sooner this nation can start concentrating on the important issues affecting all our lives! The lets of Gutu will use people like cannon fodder!

Grace is a mirage that will do nothing to quench the thirsty; the only reason the nation is paying attention is because we are used to Zanu PF setting the national agenda and we all follow like sheep. Things are a radically different now.

Since Mugabe rigged the July 2013 elections he has strutted around confident that he once again had both his hands firmly on the wheels of power after the GNU years when by all account he was on his last swan dance. Some of us said back then that Mugabe will have to rig economic recovery (there was no the economy was going to recover given the level of corruption in the system, which Mugabe was not going to address since he is the Medusa from whom these evils grow, and his stupid economic policy) otherwise he will find these are greased wheels.

The only way Mugabe was going to rig economic recovery was for him to get all the $27 billion ZimAsset funding; this is 7 times the national budget but when one has a regime whose ferrous appetite is only matched by its criminal wastefulness, even that is not enough! The fact that Mu-gabe has failed to raise even one dollar after the first year turned the wheel into a greased flag pole!

Mugabe’s begging trip to China was the tyrant’s last throw of the dice to rigging the economic recovery. He has come back empty handed; the $2 billion the Chinese pledged for the Gwayi Power Project will have no effect on saving the economic meltdown the nation is facing. None!

Unless Grace Mugabe has claws on her hands and feet and the stamina of a cat, she will not climb the greased flag pole. Who is going to give her $27 billion? No one!
