Zanu PF members fighting over a party that has long lost political power

Zanu PF Women League conference has finally started and the cat-fight for positions will decide the winners and losers. In the past, the winners were assured of political power, not so this time. Zanu PF’s continued stay in power will be decided on whether or not the regime fill the ZimAsset begging bowl necessary to stop the economic meltdown.

After a year of frantic begging to fill the ZimAsset begging bowl and failing to get even a dollar these Zanu PF women should have realised by now that Zanu PF’s hold on power was shaky, to say the least, and thus their own fight for power therefore meaningless.

Mugabe and Zanu PF bamboozled Tsvangirai and his MDC friends into doing nothing about the democratic reforms, how anyone could have been outwitted for five long years is itself a measure of just how breathtakingly incompetent MDC leaders are. When Mugabe blatantly rigged the July 2013 elections because no reforms had been implemented; the tyrant thought it was going to be plain sailing from there on, nothing of the sort. Mugabe faced his greatest challenge yet - the economy – and one impossible to cheat.

34 years of gross mismanagement, rampant corruption and an all-out looting spree in the last 15 years have all taken their toll on the Zimbabwe economy. If the economy was a horse then it would be skin and bones. It is so weak it cannot even get up much less carry the mountain of weight piled on its back.

The rigged elections confirmed Mugabe and Zanu PF were back in office and instead of the mountain of load being taken off the horse’s back, it will be increased. It was going to be business as usual; the gross mismanagement, the rampant corruption, etc. were to pick up were these had left off when the GNU was form in 2009 when some sanity had prevailed. The local players gave up and donors and foreign investors too decided to avoid Zimbabwe as if it was a Biblical lepers’ colony. The national economy has responded by taking a dangerous nose dive since the 31 July 2013 rigged elections.

The economic meltdown has thrown millions into new depths of economic suffering and despair. This cannot go on for much longer, the people’s patience has been tested to its limit.

For 34 years Mugabe has rigged elections and bamboozled his political opponents to avoid regime change but now it is the empty ZimAsset begging bowl that is going to force him to finally accept regime change.

Sometimes it is the simplest things, the ones that one least expected, that trips the seasoned fighter. Chidya matovo akazodzipwa nedovo remhuru! So says the Shona adage. (The dog renowned for chewing through the toughest hides will choke on a calf’s hide!)

Mugabe, kariga n’ombe azorigwa nedemhe! (Mugabe the renowned bull wrestler has been floored by the begging bowl!)

Mugabe’s reign of corruption and terror is over and the decades of economic misrule have come back to haunt him out of State House.

All the scheming and back stubbing by Zanu PF Women League members will come to naught because the economic meltdown is already forcing the party of power. So these women are fighting over political power, something the party has already lost!

Could not agree with you more, the country is sinking and the people are suffering. Since the rigged July 2013 elections, Zanu PF tried to rig economic recovery but has failed as is shown by the empty ZimAsset begging bowl after a year of frantic begging.

Mugabe has given up on ever getting the ZimAsset funding and the economic recovery but he will never ever thrown in the towel and give up power willingly because it is not in the DNA of tyrants to give up power. He would rather sell the whole nation to the devil himself than do that.

The people need to wake to the reality that they will have to stand up to Mugabe and demand their basic rights and freedoms including the right to have their economic grievances addressed in a meaningful way and the their right to life itself! The mistake the people have make ever since the nation attained its independence was to let Mugabe and Zanu PF doll out basic human rights and freedom as if they were sweets, given to some and denied to others. The people must now claim their basic human freedoms, rights and human dignities as their birth right or this tyrannical regime will grind them into the dust before their time!

"It [Zanu PF] is the only party that has given people power, ownership of resources, health, education... Zanu PF forever,” said Mugabe. The man lives in his own make-believe world.

The economy is in total meltdown after 34 years of gross mismanagement and rampant corrup-tion and Mugabe still insist he has given the people power and ownership of the nation’s re-sources.

Zanu PF has given the nation education and yet today 300 000 children are out of school be-cause their parents cannot afford the school fees. Health and yet 98% of the nation’s basic medicines have bought by donors since 2008 because the government has no money. It has money to pay for a $1 million birth party for Mugabe and $5 million for his daughter’s wedding but not to buy medicine for the nation.

Mugabe’s arrogance and indifference is insufferable! He really must think we are a nation of total idiots. If only those MDC idiots had implemented the reforms the nation would have been saved all these insults!

The nation’s saving grace is the economy; Mugabe showed that he could bamboozle Tsvangirai and his breathtakingly incompetent MDC friend and rig the elections but the tyrant has since learnt that he cannot rig economic prosperity. 34 years of mismanagement and rampant corrup-tion have finally caught up with him. Mass poverty is causing untold economic hardships across the land and it has no respect for Zanu PF ruling elite as the late party grandee Nathan Sha-muyarira learnt.

It is now a matter of time before the people of Zimbabwe wake up to the political reality that Mu-gabe and Zanu PF will talk of mass prosperity until the cows come home just to stay in power although the reality on the ground if mass poverty. The people have to wake up and kick Mugabe out of State house or the tyrant will grind them into the dust. Of course he does not care about the people, never did; all he cares about is power!

SADC Head of State are meeting in Victoria Falls soon at the beginning of Mugabe’s term as Chairperson of the regional body. Mugabe was reportedly going to preach to the other heads about his black empowerment policies of which the land seizure from the white farmers is the centre piece.

“Zimbabwe was a food basket of Africa but is a disaster today,” ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe said, according to reports in South African media while responding to questions after addressing a dialogue on land reform and food security in Johannesburg on Wednesday.

Well talk of stealing someone’s thunder, ANC secretary general’s words have stop Mugabe died on his feet, just when he was about to drum his chest like silver-back gorilla. In Shona one would say Secretary Mantashe “vabaya gudo mukanwa!” (speared the arrogant baboon through the mouth just before it sunk its fangs into its victim!) Perfect timing Mr Mantashe, spot on!

@ Rovambira

I would not trust those breathtakingly incompetent MDC idiots to do anything from now on after the GNU fiasco. As for doing something about the vote rigging, well there is no need for me or anyone else to do anything for it seems Mugabe shot himself in the foot and gangrene is already setting in.

34 years of misrule and corruption have taken a heavy toll on the Zimbabwe economy; it desper-ately needs a heavy dose of foreign cash and investment or the economy is going to crash! In blatantly rigging the July 2013 elections Mugabe also, inadvertently am sure, send out the mes-sage that he cannot be trust to end the corruption at the heart of the ailing Zimbabwe economy or can he be trusted not to seize any foreign owned business to give to his cronies and thus scarring away all would be investors and donors.

Mugabe has spent a year frantically begging for money and not even his Chinese ally would give him a single Yuan to rattle his ZimAsset begging bowl with.

Unlike half-wits like you Rovambira who do not seem to comprehend the seriousness of the country’s economic meltdown, the penny has certain dropped for Mugabe. He has been begging Zimbabweans to forget the economic hardships and smile at the visiting SADC Heads of State arriving in the country shortly.

Unless Mugabe can rig the economic recovery then his continued rule is not as certain as you think! The empty ZimAsset begging bowl is holding Mugabe to account for the rigged July 2013 elections; the tyrant is totally helpless and the bowl is manipulating him to perform a tombstone from the top rope. There will be no need to count; the tyrant will be taken straight to the morgue!

Karigan’ombe azorigwa nedemhe! (The renowned bull-wrestler has been floored by a begging bowl!) What a total humiliation and the crowd love every second of it! This will go down in the history books and remembered for generations to come as the fitting end to corrupt and murderous tyrant.

@ Minister Dinha

After last year’s blatant vote rigging many Zimbabweans gave up that Mugabe and Zanu PF will ever be forced out of office. Some of the more arrogant and myopic in Zanu PF the likes of Simon Khaya Moyo were even boasting that Zanu PF will rule until “donkeys have horns”.

Some of us said Mugabe’s rule would only be assured if he rigged the economic recovery too; after decades of mismanagement and corruption it was clear the regime would fail to deliver the 2 million jobs it promised during the elections. The reckless spending to finance the vote rigging precipitated the economic meltdown showing this was indeed going to be a very hollow victory for Mugabe and Zanu PF. It has been downhill from there on.

“Hama dzangu hakuna kwatiri kuenda. Iye zvino vatirova matundundu. Kamari kavo ka-nonzi US dollar hakachawanikwi. Maindustry avhara, mabasa hakuchina, (Fellow countrymen, we are headed for the rocks, they have now hit us where it hurts. Their US dollar is now scarce. Industries have shut down, there are no more jobs),” admitted Provincial Minister for Mashonaland Central, Martin Dinha.

Well Minister, you ain’t seen nothing yet! As long as Mugabe remains in State of House things are going to get worse and worse until he is force out. This is an illegitimate regime and it must go! And go it will!

"We made blunders when preparing for the youth conference and very many, many blunders, some of them criminal blunders, in interfering with the rights of members of the youth league to make their own choice of who they preferred to lead them," Mugabe said.

Mugabe can witter all he like about rigged Zanu PF elections what most Zimbabweans are really concerned about is rigged national elections. The voters roll will be released and all the detailed of the vote rigging will be thoroughly investigated and made public. All those involved in this treasonous act will be punished regardless of the office they have held in the nation!

@ Zainab Usman

President Obama's US-Africa summit will be remember for engaging Africa as an equal business partner and not the condescending paternalism, at best, if not the usual out to fleece Africa in exchange for shiny beads. Instead of dithering on human rights as the EU has done for selfish business interest, China and Russia have never bothered about such niceties, the USA has stood firm and shown that it is strong nations can still do business with Africa without compromising their democratic values.

President Obama has left his revision of his US-Africa policy until his second presidential term; many Africans were beginning to fear that he had forgotten us. Well the just ended US-Africa summit showed that he had not forgotten and did he pass with flying colours!

@ Rovambira

Mugabe's legacy is one of corruption, vote rigging and murder; the facts are there for all to see. Once he is finally forced out of office, the will be a thorough investigation to establish the full details and put them beyond dispute.

My friend when your starting point is 80% unemployment rate a growth of 3% is nothing!

As long as Mugabe remains in office the economy will continue to sink that is the reality. The grinding poverty is not confined to the masses, povo, alone even Zanu PF grandees are affected. Look at the late Shamuyarira , he was as poor as a church mouse when he died. Zanu PF, in its George Orwell Animal Farm cynicism, painted his house the day he died to hide the years of neglect, rot and decay. I will bet you anything you want they did not paint the back.

If you think the nation is going to stand whilst the regime destroys everything just to gratify a tyrant and a handful of his cronies’ insatiable greed for power; think again. Zimbabweans have been naïve to think that Mugabe and Zanu PF will not destroy the nation and have patiently waited for things to get better. The people patience is not infinite; the cup is full to overflow! Watch out!

@ Tendekai

The interesting point now is whether Mugabe will still go ahead and preach to SADC Heads of State his black empowerment nonsense knowing ANC has already publicly denounced it as a disaster? We will have to just wait and see.

Poor Mugabe, he rigged the July 2013 elections and SADC Heads flattered him and pretended the elections were free and fair. This time they are making it clear they have no patience with him pontificating on and on about some failed policies. ANC made this comment knowing it will be give wide coverage and will be fresh in all the SADC delegates’ mind as the arrive in Victoria Falls.

Mugabe has himself acknowledged the country is in a real economic mess although he contin-ues to pretend it is because of the sanctions. Clearly the ANC thinks the chaotic land reforms were the root cause.

My guess is Mugabe will still go ahead and preach to the SADC Heads about his failed black empowerment policies and prove once again that he is indeed a twat!

@ Sunningdale

An uprising will usually result in violence and distraction and will almost certainly end with the killing of Mugabe as happened with Gaddafi. I am not concerned about the latter bit but the former for two reasons:

1) waiting for the rioting to happen means more suffering before we finally get there.

2) the violence will end with the destruction of property and many innocent people will suffer and many may be killed.

Mugabe should know that he has a single choice, step down now or be kicked out of office. He and his cronies know they rigged the last elections, there will be an official judiciary investigation to establish the full details of this treasonous act, and they are therefore responsible for all the financial costs and human suffering that has occurred since. By hanging on to power, they are making things worse.

The game is up for Mugabe and his cronies; it pays to know when one has been beaten.

@ Mthembo

What we need is Mugabe to step down so the democratic reforms MDC should have implement-ed can be implemented. Once that is done the nation can have free and fair elections which ever government that emerge can start the rebuilding process. We need a substantive government to start the rebuilding; an unelected government will not have the mandate to do much.

@ Mutengesimukuru

The nation cannot wait until 2018, Mugabe must go now.

What nauseating nonsense are you talking about "Tsvangirai holds the key"? If the idiot had not been so breathtakingly incompetent and failed to implement even one reform then the nation would have had free and fair elections last year and would not be in this mess! To even suggest that Tsvangirai can have any role shows that you have failed to understand what has happened even now with all hindsight! WAKE UP!!!!!!!

@Nhamodzenyika
The real funny thing is the party is rotten to the core and is collapsing on its own and so they are fighting for the carcass! In a way it shows just how hopelessly stupid Zanu PF leaders really are!

Zimbabwe Light said...

@ Rukudzo
Your stupid is only matched by your naivety. You take everything at face value that what is a good idea become a stupid one in Mugabe and your hands.

No doubt Mugabe thought he was empowering himself and his cronies by seizing all the white own farms and sharing them amongst themselves turning a nations once able to produce food enough to feed everyone and have plenty leftover for export into one that cannot even feed its own people.

The whole nation's economy has suffered greatly after the collapse of the agricultural sector.

How has creating a situation where millions are out of work and living in abject poverty and starving empowered the masses?

The seized farms failed to empower even those who did get the farms. Many of Mugabe’s cro-nies got the farm, many got more than one, but have completely failed to make them productive. Many like Shamuyarira gave up farming and lived in abject poverty.

Zimbabweans are not going to wait for Mugabe and his cronies to empower themselves first and then be empowered; they have a better way, kick the tyrant and his thugs out! The regime is in terminal collapse and regime change is now as certain as day following night!

@ Makate
The tyrant is wasting $1 million on a birthday, $5 million on his daughter's wedding, etc., etc. meanwhile whole cities and towns are without clean running water. And we are being told to wait for him to be rich first before we are to get clean water?

The stolen loot Mugabe and his cronies have amassed must be recovered and given back to the nation! Thank God the tyrant's reign of terror is drawing to a close!

Zimbabwe Light said...

@ Rovambira
Which part of "Mugabe rigged the elections" do you not understand? Mugabe does not have "many" Zimbabweans who support him. I, unlike you, not only speak for the overwhelming majority of Zimbabweans out there but, even better still, I speak the truth!

Mugabe is finished. Regime change is as certain as day following night. The greatest worry right now is to make sure that it is orderly, as contrast to what Mugabe would want - a disorderly and chaotic one!

Zimbabwe Light said...

@thebrother
What makes you sure it will not be the fifth brigade that will not be doing it; after all they have good reasons to be angry with the tyrant as well as anyone else.

Mugabe asked them to go and murder innocent people only for him to now discard them as if they were used toilet paper. 99% of all those who served in the brigade are living in abject pov-erty, if they are still in the army then they too are having the two weeks a month forced holiday where they are expected to stay home and starve!

Do you really believe everyone in the Army and Police are that stupid not to see how Mugabe and his cronies are using them to defend a economic system that has turned the rank and file soldier and Police Officer, as well as millions other Zimbabweans ,into paupers? You think they do not see the absurdity of Mugabe throwing a $ 1 million birthday party and $5 million wedding when Harare and all the other major cities and towns do not even have running clean water! How long do you expect these men and women to continue defending such a foul system?

I know Mugabe would very much to have a bloody end to his rule. Personally, I would say there peaceful ways to end his rule but there are others would do not. By hanging on to power Mugabe is pushing this nation towards a violent end and he will be held to account for the consequences!

Mugabe retells his story of how his father deserted his mother to start a new family.

Here is the man who is bitter that his father left his mother to start another family and yet he has murder over 30 000 innocent Zimbabweans to establish and retain his one-party dictatorship. How many children have suffered worse things than he ever did because he murdered their mother, father, uncle, etc.?

Is he retelling his story to get sympathy or to explain why he has is the cold hearted murderer he is?!

Zimbabwe Light said...

@ Rukudzo

Let me guess, Mugabe was rigging the elections to empower himself first then he was going to empower the rest of us! He has insisted he won fair and square - a judiciary investigation will establish that!

We should have had regime change last year were it not for the breath-taking incompetence of Tsvangirai and MDC. Still Mugabe has finally met something not to be so easily bamboozled as Tsvangirai - the economy.

Mugabe has clearly failed to rig economic recovery as exemplified by the ZimAsset begging bowl.

Kariga n'ombe azorigwa nedemhe!

I will tell you again, Mugabe is finished! This is it!
