Zimbabwe to be ruled by technocrats because "mind-set that created" the problems cannot solve them, says Biti.

“Problems are never resolved by the same mind-set that created them. It doesn’t happen.  We need to come up with a government to address the current deficit of leadership. It can’t be a government of national unity, but a technical government.”

I would give Biti 100% for the insightful “Problems are never resolved by the same mind-set that created them.” But zero for failing to see that he is now a big part of that mind-set that have landed the nation in this mess!

Of course Mugabe and Zanu PF would rig the elections again because it was Biti and his MDC friends who created this problem by failing to implement the democratic reforms. In any case after four or five years of an unelected technocratic government the country will still come back to holding elections which Zanu PF will still be in a position to rig!

The solution is for Mugabe and his regime to step aside because nothing can ever be achieve with him in power, besides he rigged the elections and therefore has no legitimate ground to be in government. An interim administration should be appointed whose main task is to implement the democratic reforms and prepare for fresh democratic elections. With political will the task can be completed in 6 months, a year at most.

Tsvangirai, Biti and the rest of the MDC leaders should have no role in the interim Administration too; they will only be there to give excuses why they failed to do this work during the GNU. The Administration will have better things to do than listen to that nonsense!

Only an elected government will have the legitimacy to implement the far reaching political and economic changes the country needs to get out of this political mess. An unelected government will not have that authority.

Greece and Italy’s problem was the lack of government with the political will to implement the economic reforms most people agreed were necessary. Zimbabwe is different; our problem is uprooting everything Mugabe and Zanu PF have built the last 34 years and starting afresh. To get the nation’s agricultural sector back into full production again, for example, Mugabe and his cronies will have to be kicked off the farms. That should be left to an elected government with a mandate to do this and not a group of technocrats!

@ Clifford Mashiri

The MDC betrayed the people of Zimbabwe by allowing Mugabe to rig the 2013 elections.

“In Gwanda, Ward 10, Bar Compound, there was a polling station that was manned by one polling agent, a ZANU-PF agent. The polling station was not listed under a list given to all stakeholders by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC). We in-formed other political parties in Gwanda and they have since sent their polling agents there," said Debra Mabunda.

The lady had done her bit and one would have thought the MDC would take this up and found out how many votes had been cast at this station, how many other “ghost” polling stations were there, why ZEC did not have those stations on its list, etc. There were so many irregularities in the whole electoral process it was a seri-ous dereliction of duty on the opposition that they let all these things happen, water off a duck's back!

Thank you Mr Mashiri for treating this matter with the seriousness it deserves and for refusing to let it be forgotten! We must not rest until every Zimbabwean basic rights and freedoms are secured, guaranteed and enjoyed by all!

Two Chitugwiza council workers angry at not being paid for ten months, beat up the Mayor.

How can someone, especially those lowly paid workers who have no saving to fall back on, be expected to go for ten months without being paid! This is totally inhu-man.

Mugabe rigged the 2013 elections but now he finds he cannot rig the economic recovery. The tyrant should just admit he has failed to rule the country and allow for the delayed reforms to be implemented and the free and fair elections to be held. This problem is not going away and sooner or later Mugabe will be forced to leave!

For the record Tsvangirai was advised not to accept the GPA because it was one sided. I remember US Ambassador James Mcghee comparing the agreement to Swizz cheese "with holes big enough to drive a truck"; but as usual Tsvangirai did not listen. I never supported the GPA for the same reason, you can see my blog en-tries dating back on zimbabwelight.blogspot.co.uk.

But even with all the limitation of the GPA, Tsvangirai could have achieved a lot. There was enough space for MDC to have implemented the democratic reforms. The only reasons they failed were 1) corrupt and 2) breathtakingly incompetent.

The Zimbabwe economy is in meltdown; there is no running water, wages are not being paid, etc. This cannot go on for much longer. Mugabe is ruthless enough to drag the nation into the abyss; we must not let him!

Mugabe was critical of Information Minister Jonathan Moyo for trying to divide the party from within.

It emerged that in the recent politburo meeting held Wednesday, most politburo members ex-pressed displeasure with the role of the state media which they say is now in the hands of jour-nalists who were peddling the regime change agenda in the country.

The state media reported stories of the rampant corruption that has destroyed the nation and not even you Mugabe would have managed to keep these stories away from the public for ever! The cat is out of the bag and not even you can put it back! Zimbabwe is changing and it is time to change or you will be swept aside.

You got away with resisting regime change for a long time this time you will not resist the growing pressure for regime change!
