Mugabe puts on a brave face over renewd sanctions following his blatantly rigging the elections!

"Zimbabwe will never fall. Yes, they (sanctions) can be an impediment but we will find ways to make progress. We have friends who want to work with us," Mugabe said.

Mr Mugabe, you can continue shouting the same old nonsense about sanctions hurting Zimbabwe but the true is no one believes you. The people of Zimbabwe stopped believing in you and any of your usual nonsense.

Throughout these elections you did not even bother to produce manifestos much less sell it to the electorate because you knew the people would have dismissed it all with the usual, “We have heard it all before!” You promised the people “gutsa ruzhinji”, mass prosperity after independence and in ten years’ time, 1990, it was evident the national economy was in serious trouble and hence the need for Zanu PF to adopt the five-year Economic Structural Adjustment Program (ESAP).

The rot continued and forcing Zanu PF to adopt another five-year ESAP program.

Still the rot continued and by 2000 the country was up to its eyes in debt so much so that the World Bank and IMF had decided to stop throwing more good money into this black-hole called the Zimbabwe economy!

The targeted sanctions were only imposed on the cabal’s thugs after Zanu PF rigged the 2002 elections by then the country was already in a serious economic mess. How can the sanction have caused the economic mess that was already well established?

The root causes of Zimbabwe’s economic mess are 33 years of gross mismanagement, rampant corruption and an all-out looting spree of the last 12 years. The people of Zimbabwe may be confused about many things but they are clear about one thing; they know the only way to end the mismanagement, corruption and looting is by getting rid of this oppressive Zanu PF dictatorship.

Yes Mugabe and Zanu PF were able to rig the 31st July 2013 elections to get back into power, thanks to the breath-taking incompetence of Tsvangirai and MDC. That has only delayed the demise of the Zanu PF dictatorship because the people of Zimbabwe have suffered long enough, this cannot, must not, be allowed to continue much longer. The Zanu PF dictatorship must end and imposing targeted sanctions of the tyrant and his cronies for rigging the 31st July 2013 elections is just one of the many pressure points that must be applied.

Zimbabwe will not fall but the Zanu PF dictatorship’s reign of terror, corruption and looting will be brought crashing down like so many other tyrannical regimes in history!

Judge dismiss MDC court challenge against Ministry of Local Government’s directive stopping MDC imposing unelected party officials, defeated in the just ended parliamentary elections, as Mayors.

Mwonzora said MDC had a "strong" case and therefore "will not give up on it". How can this case be strong whilst the case of the blatant vote rigging by Mugabe with all its great public im-portance was considered weak!! That simply beggars belief!

I am glad the rigged elections have meant people like Mwonzora have no platform to dish out all that nonsense. The nation will be spared having to listen to the "motor mouth". By closing the door to being elected major means people like Obert Gutu, who lost in the parliamentary contest and had hoped to get back into power through the backdoor, are too out in the cold. Another “motor mouth” switched off! Yeah, silence is golden, golden!

@ Ganda dema

The British did not rig the elections!

You are obsessed about the British; you cannot see even what is happening before your own eyes. Mugabe has destroyed the country, sending millions into a life of abject poverty and he knows that as long as he says it is "a blow against the British" he can do anything, anything, and still get away with it.

I ask you again what have the British to do with Mugabe rigging the election? How is the tyrant punishing the British by rigging the election so he can stay in power to cause more destruction and ruin to the nation?

@ jukwa

Every Zimbabwean has the right to a meaningful vote and they have been denied that right for these last 33 years. But that is all to change; every Zimbabwean will enjoy all, and I mean ALL their rights and freedoms in my life time!

@ tsvimbonyoro

Does you freedom include the freedom to deny others their basic rights and freedoms. You do not have the right to rig elections, nor does Mugabe or anyone!

You have no right to come on this site and deny Mugabe rigged the elections and belittle the suffering that will befall on the millions of Zimbabweans he has ridden rough shod these last 33 years and now wants to do the same for another five long years!

@ Yepec

"The MDC is totally and completely infiltrated from the top," brain dead now tells us. But of course this nonsense because the statement is based on two erroneous and unfounded assumptions.

1) You assume that MDC had some quality and competent leaders. Name one such leader, because I can not think of even one. So how could anyone bother infiltrate a party that was going nowhere.

2) You giving Mugabe and Zanu PF more credit than they are due. If they were as competent as you want us to believe would they have made such a dog's breakfast of governing the country. They are brutal and ruthless, yes; but that has nothing to with competence.

You cannot accept that Tsvangirai and his MDC friends are all breathtakingly incompetent and so you have to come up with some feeble excuse - MDC was infiltrated by Zanu PF. That only shows you still have your head buried in the goat-herder's backside!

The country is in serious trouble, millions of ordinary Zimbabweans are suffering untold economic hardships and brutal political oppression. We need a serious debate on what to do and the last thing we want is MDC apologists wittering nonsense.

The country is in this mess because MDC failed to seize the many opportunities to end the Zanu PF dictatorship because the leadership of the party and, you, its supporters are incompetent. You lot have done enough harm. You are brain-dead and now shut the f***** up!

@ Dumbu

It is not just the stands these Zanu PF thugs want; they want us all to give up our right to de-mand free and fair elections, free media, end to corruption, etc., etc. Mugabe and Zanu PF have destroyed the nation's economy and stole the very soul of the nation these last 33 years and yet the tyrant is not happy. He is back demanding and taking away even the scraps.

You are advocating appeasement and that is the very reason why the country is in this mess.

We all know Mugabe rigged the 31st July elections are, to appease him, we pretend there is no evidence of vote rigging. The evidence is staring us in the face but we know if we acknowledge it then we will have to deal with the difficult task of removing him from power.

@ Justice

Will the music liven up lives of the suffering of the 90% unemployed in Zimbabwe, many of whom have not worked for ten years or more? I do not think so! If it will not touch them it will not touch me because it is the long suffering Zimbabweans I am concerned about.

Mugabe rigged the elections and the only thing that will liven up the long suffering masses in Zimbabwe is that we, the nation, face up to this reality. We need to tell Mugabe in no uncertain terms that rigging elections is a red-line he has crossed again and again these last 33 years but enough is enough.

We must look the tyrant in the face and tell him that anyone who rigs elections is a sewer rat and will and must be treated as such. He rigged these elections and therefore he must now face the consequences of his actions – he will be treated like a sewer rat that he is.

It is ok for you to be “bored” by the crying of the suffering masses; you are one of those who have benefited from the years of corruption and looting. Chinokangamwa idemo, muti wa-katemwa haukangamwi!

So until the democratic rights and freedoms, especially the right to free and fair elections, are restored to every Zimbabwean man, woman and child; Mugabe will be treated like a sewer rat and the crying for justice will only get louder!

@ Gone to the dogs

Yes Mugabe and his thugs are morons, vote riggers, killers and a lot more beside what matters here is that they continue to rule and ruin all our lives! You know Mugabe rigged, blatantly too, these elections; the most important question is why are you letting him get away with it?

By letting Mugabe get away with it, we the people are per se saying it is ok to be ruled by killers and cheats. Whether we care to acknowledge this, is irrelevant the reality is we are paying dearly for our folly!
