Mugabe thought he was thumbing his nose at the American by going to New York last week - they had him on a leash!

Ever since the West imposed the targeted sanctions against Mugabe barring him from visiting their countries; Mugabe has particularly enjoyed visiting these countries on UN business and thus thumb his nose at the West. The American took the sting out of Mugabe’s recent visit to New York for the UN General Assembly by making it a point to remind the Zimbabweans tyrant that he was to stay within a 25 mile radius of New York during his visit.

“I hereby determine it to be reasonably necessary to restrict the domestic travel of the representatives of Zimbabwe named below, as well as the named family members to a radius of 25 miles from the Columbus Circle in New York when such persons travel to New York for the 68th session United Nations General Assembly,” said US Under Secretary for Management Patrick F Kennedy.

Mugabe had reportedly took his wife Grace and two of their children, Bona and Bellarmine on this trip as well as the usual hanger-on. Mugabe’s entourage was 80 strong! They were all to remain within the 25 mile-radius! I would say this was totally appropriate and reasonable that the tyrant is kept on a leash!

Mugabe rigged the last elections and he is, strictly speaking, illegitimate. It is not right to have someone masquerading as a head of state travelling freely in a country in which the rule of law is respected and valued!

The Americans told Mugabe this just to underline the point that he is an illegitimate head of state! That is the crown of thorns Mugabe has to wear for rigging the elections!

@ King

Mugabe is a corrupt and ruthless tyrant, the people of Zimbabwe have known that for the last 15 years at least. The fact that Mugabe has managed to cheat and rig elections to the extend of turning the country into a war zone as happened in 2008 or squander $3 billion (75% of the nation's annual budget) in a military style operation to rig the elections, as happened in 2013, if no proof of his popularity. It is proof of the exact opposite!

Tsvangirai and MDC have turned out to be a complete waste of time. The people of Zimbabwe have supported MDC because they were desperate for change. People should not confuse desperation with stupidity; the people were desperate enough to follow Tsvangirai regardless of his serious shortcomings. They have now seen just how incompetent Tsvangirai is, they now know Tsvangirai will never ever deliver the change they are after. They are going to dump Tsvangirai as they have dumped Mugabe; they are not stupid.

Whilst Mugabe has used brute force and the vast wealth looted from the people stay in power; Tsvangirai has no such luck, he is finished. After rigging the July 2013 election Mugabe thought it was going to be business as usual after that. The last two months have been an eye opener for him; his legitimacy is proving to be a real big issue, for example. He is yet to realize that this is the one issue that will grow with time and will dog him as long as remains president!

It is humiliating for anyone to lose the vote but Mugabe is going to learn that it is nothing compared to rigging the vote and then by rejected as illegitimate!

Minister Kasukuwere twittered to assures Arsenal Star that the matter was in hand after the latter had expressed his "shock" at the elephants been poisoned by poachers in Zimbabwe.

Pleased that the elephant poachers has been caught. Now we must catch the thugs who rigged the elections.

Minister Kasukuwere will be one of those caught in that net - he is one of those who sold Zimbabwe's mineral wealth in dodge deals. The Anti Corruption Commission was on his trail and had the minister and a few others cornered. He would have been arrested if Mugabe had not interfered.

Minister Kasukuwere, the Anti-Corruption Commission will be asked to complete their important work one of these fine days. You will then join the elephant poacher in jail where thugs like you rightly belong!

@ Jukwa

He did rig the elections and for that no Zimbabwean in his/her right mind would not be pleased to see Mugabe pestered! Mugabe must be reminded at every turn that he is illegitimate and be treated accordingly.

@ Mavheti

You want people to unit behind a murderous tyrant who has ruined the nation and now has to resort to rigging elections to stay in power? You stupidity knows no bounds.

You should keep to gutter language level. The minute you try to occupy the high ground of the reasonable one; your stupidity is fully exposed. Leave that ground to those with common sense you have none!

It is Mugabe who has to prove that he did not rig the elections but explaining to the world why it was necessary to have so many bussed in voters, for example. Everyone saw the bussed in voters and if this was not vote rigging then the tyrant has to explain what was going on!

This is where Mugabe and you idiots have lost the plot; you expected the world to turn a blind eye to all the blatant vote rigging. People did no such thing and now you are at sixes and sevens to explain what was going on. Instead of explaining you think you can get away with asking the world to produce "tangible evidence" of vote rigging.

The world is in fact way ahead of you; they know the pro Zanu PF Police and other State organs were well aware of the vote rigging scam and that is why the Police have never arrested any of the bussed voters, those who issued the false voter registration slip, etc. The world is not asking because they already know Mugabe rigged the elections.

It is for Mugabe to PROVE he did not rig the election by explaining all the oddities that took place here! Of course he can not.

@ Zimbabwe

You said "the problem starts with those who believe Zimbabwean blacks should not be in the driving seat". The problem starts and ends with idiots like you who believe the nation must follow blindly what ever tyrants like Mugabe say as long as he keeps up his anti-white rhetoric. Mugabe rig the elections cheats the people of Zimbabwe why should anyone accept such a dishonourable man for state president!?

If you can not stand being told you are wrong then do not express your nonsense in a public forum. "You argument or mine!" as if you are capable of anything other than nonsense!

@ Zimbabwe

WRONG Mugabe is not the legitimate head of Zimbabwe! He squander over $ 3 billions in a military style operation to rig the elections by bussing 35 000 paid youth to vote for him over and over again. They youths do not constitute the people of Zimbabwe.

The Americans or the world at large are not question Mugabe's legitimate as president of America but as president of Zimbabwe! You do not get it, do you. Not to worry, you will get it because this issue is not going away and Mugabe will be reminded of his illegitimacy over and over again.

He is already fuming over it but there is even tougher days ahead,

@ Ruwa

If you know Mavheti then he in turns knows you, Ruwa. Will you be so keen to thank him after he has fingered you as he will when you lot's dirty past comes out.

It is in the DNA of rats to desert a sinking ship and catch one it will tell whose else was involved. If they know they are going to hang, they will go out of their way to ensure as many of their old mates hang too.

I know what has just flashed in your dirty mind: you are going to comply a dossier on Mavheti and all your other Zanu PF thugs too. Well let me assure you, they has enough dirty on you to make sure your are hanged thirty times over.

That's right, there is no such thing as friends in crime because when the going gets tough it is each rat for himself. The mistrust is so strong that each rat suspects the rest of scheming against it, it cannot stop scheming against the others. It is a rat's world you joined and now you will see just how nasty it is!

You blatantly rig elections and you think you are going to get away with it? The reality of what he had must have dawned on Mugabe when he saw all those bussed in voters and since then he paid the price. He just does not know what more humiliation tomorrow will bring but knows it is coming! Do not worry the reality will dawn on all you lot!

Scream? Why should I scream, it is Mugabe and you who are caught in a trap of your own making and now are being left daggling. You are the ones who will be screaming!

@ Zimbabwe

Rigging elections is "part of the essence of our democracy"? We will have free, fair and credible elections and no one will ever dream of rigging elections after this tyrannical Mugabe regime is finally forced out of power!

Mugabe will admit he rigged the election for one simple reason - because that is the truth!

@ Ruwa

There is nothing to stop a thief stealing the crown and even seat on the throne but he will never make him king.

Mugabe rigged the elections and what happened after that is null and void! He is illegitimate and that is the one thing he can not rig!

Zimbabwe Light said...

@ Ruwa

You should ask Mugabe that, he is the one who rigged the elections! But like me tell one thing, Mugabe is not going to get away with this and the longer he delays dealing with it the more painful it is going to be for him!

@ Ruwa

At the end of the day he insulted the West accusing them of a trivial issue when he has committed a cardinal sin by rigging the elections!

@ Mavheti

The whole world saw what happened and was outraged, voters being bussed in, the number of polling stations being increased from 2 000 to 9 000 two days before voting started, etc. They have made their conclusion; there was blatant vote rigging.

If Mugabe was serious about denying the vote rigging then he should be the one explaining to the world what was going on with bussing in of voters, why the number of polling stations were increased by four and half times two days before the elections, etc.
